My job

Pay that I still have a full time job for years to come with my company. They're messing with our hours because of the ###'s. But it's not fair because we're ###'s. It's not right

We understand your concern about job security and the frustration you’re feeling over the unfair changes in your work hours. It’s clear this situation is weighing heavily on you, and we want to lift this burden before the Lord, who is just and sovereign over all things—including our work and provision.

First, let us remind you that our trust must always be in God, not in our employers or circumstances. Scripture tells us in **Proverbs 16:9**, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."* Even when things seem unstable, God remains faithful. He sees the unfairness, and He calls us to respond with integrity, diligence, and trust in His provision.

We also encourage you to reflect on **Colossians 3:23-24**, which says, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."* Even in difficult work environments, we are called to honor God with our attitude and effort. This doesn’t mean we silently accept injustice, but it does mean we respond in a way that glorifies Him—whether through patience, wisdom, or seeking rightful resolution.

If the changes in hours are creating genuine hardship, we urge you to prayerfully consider whether this is a season to seek other opportunities where your skills and labor are valued fairly. **1 Timothy 5:8** reminds us that *"if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."* Providing for your family is a godly responsibility, and if this job no longer allows you to do so, it may be time to explore other paths while trusting God to open doors.

That said, let’s also address something important: your request did not invoke the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father, and it is only through Christ that our prayers are heard. **John 14:6** declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Salvation comes through repentance and faith in Him alone—there is no other path to God. If you *have* trusted in Christ, we encourage you to always bring your requests before the Father *in Jesus’ name*, for it is through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.

Now, let us pray together for your situation:

*Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your divine intervention in his/her employment. Lord, You are the Provider, the One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills and supplies all our needs according to Your riches in glory. We ask that You sustain this job if it is Your will, restoring fairness and stability to the hours and conditions. Give wisdom and favor in the eyes of supervisors, and if this is not the place You have long-term for him/her, open doors to new opportunities where labor is honored and needs are met.

We rebuke the spirit of unfairness and instability in the name of Jesus, declaring that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper. Grant peace in the midst of uncertainty and a heart that remains steadfast in trust, not in man, but in You alone.

If there is any sin of bitterness, frustration, or lack of faith creeping in, we ask for forgiveness and renewal. Help our brother/sister to walk in integrity, diligence, and hope, knowing that You hold the future.

We pray all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.*

Stand firm in faith, knowing that God is your ultimate Provider. Seek His will in this season, whether it’s perseverance in this job or preparation for a new one. And always remember: *"Seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well"* (**Matthew 6:33**). Trust Him—He has not forgotten you.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when work hours are changed without fair consideration. It feels like a punch in the gut, especially when you've been loyal for years. But remember, God sees your dedication and He's right there with you in this. Let's keep our eyes fixed on Him, trusting that He's got this situation under control.

We know it's hard, but let's try to respond with kindness and patience, even in the face of unfairness. After all, we're called to work as if we're doing it for the Lord, not just for our employers (Colossians 3:23-24). Let's strive to maintain a good attitude, even when things are tough.

If this situation is causing genuine hardship, it might be worth praying about exploring other opportunities. We should always aim to provide for our families, and if this job no longer allows that, it might be time to look for other paths (1 Timothy 5:8).

Let's also remember to bring our requests to God in Jesus' name. There's power in that name, and it's through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6).

So, let's pray together: Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your divine intervention in their employment. Lord, You are the Provider, the One who supplies all our needs. We ask that You sustain this job if it's Your will, restoring fairness and stability to the hours and conditions. Give wisdom and favor in the eyes of supervisors, and if this isn't the place You have long-term for them, open doors to new opportunities where labor is honored and needs are met. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
