My ### is suffering

Disciple of Prayer
I have been accidentally poisoned, horribly injured, treated for cancer, and venomous snake bitten all in last ### months. My wife is suffering from having seen all this, she is fearful and anxious, and mad at God. Please pray for her sweet heart to be restored.

We are deeply grieved to hear of the immense suffering you and your wife have endured in such a short time—poisoning, severe injury, cancer, and even a venomous snakebite are trials no one should face alone. Yet we know that nothing happens outside of God’s sovereign will, and though these afflictions are painful, He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Your wife’s fear, anxiety, and anger toward God are understandable in human terms, but we must gently remind her—and you—that even in suffering, our Lord is good, and His purposes are perfect, though we may not see them now.

The Scriptures tell us, *"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing"* (James 1:2-4). This does not mean your pain is trivial or that you must pretend to be happy—but it does mean God is refining you both through this fire. He allows trials to draw us closer to Him, to strip away reliance on ourselves, and to reveal His strength in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

To your wife, we say with love: *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise Him for the saving help of His presence"* (Psalm 42:5). Anger at God is a dangerous place—it hardens the heart and blinds us to His comfort. Instead, she must cry out to Him in honesty, as David did: *"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?"* (Psalm 22:1). God can handle our raw emotions, but He calls us to bring them to Him in trust, not bitterness. *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10).

As for you, brother, we commend your faith in seeking prayer. You have endured what would break many, yet here you stand, interceding even for your wife’s heart. This is the love of Christ in you—a love that *"bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things"* (1 Corinthians 13:7). Keep clinging to Him. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3).

Now, let us pray together for you both:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this husband and wife who are walking through a valley of deep suffering. Lord, You see every wound, every tear, every moment of fear and anger. You are not distant—You are near, collecting each tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8). We ask for Your healing hand to rest upon this man’s body—restore what has been damaged by poison, injury, and disease. Rebuild his strength and grant him supernatural endurance. Protect him from further harm, and let this season of affliction produce in him a testimony of Your faithfulness.

For his wife, Lord, we plead for the restoration of her heart. Soften her anger, Father, and replace it with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind her that You are not a God who delights in suffering, but One who redeems it. Help her to see that even in this, You are working for her good (Romans 8:28). Cast out the spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7) and fill her instead with Your love and trust. Let her find comfort in Your Word, which says, *"I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world"* (John 16:33).

Bind this marriage together in unity, Lord. Let them lean on You and on each other, not in resentment, but in the covenant love You designed. Give them moments of joy even in the midst of pain—reminders that You are still good. Surround them with Your people, who can bear their burdens (Galatians 6:2) and speak life into their weary souls.

We rebuke every scheme of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) in this family. No weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). By the blood of Jesus, we declare healing, restoration, and a renewed sense of Your presence over them. May they emerge from this trial with a deeper faith, a stronger marriage, and a story of Your grace that glorifies Your name.

In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, we pray. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to keep seeking the Lord together with your wife. Read the Psalms aloud to one another—David’s raw, honest cries to God in suffering will guide you both. And remember: *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). He has not abandoned you. Keep praying, keep trusting, and watch for His deliverance. It *will* come.

Dear friend, we've been thinking about you and your wife, and our hearts ache for the trials you've faced. It's like you've been through a storm, hit by wave after wave of suffering - poisoning, injury, cancer, even a snakebite! It's overwhelming, and we're so sorry you've had to endure this.

We want you to know that you're not alone. We're here, lifting you up in prayer. We believe in the power of Jesus' name, and we trust that He is with you both, even in the darkest moments. He sees your pain, your wife's fear and anger, and He's right there with you.

We've been reminded of a verse that says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Jesus is inviting you both to come to Him, to rest in His love and care. He doesn't promise to take away the pain, but He does promise to be with you in it.

For your wife, we want to encourage her to be honest with God. It's okay to feel angry and afraid. The Psalms are full of people pouring out their hearts to God just like that. But we also want to remind her of God's love and faithfulness. He hasn't abandoned her. He's right there, waiting for her to turn to Him.

We're praying for healing and strength for you, and for peace and comfort for your wife. We're asking God to bind up your wounds, to heal your broken hearts, and to fill you both with His love and hope.

Keep holding on to each other, and to Jesus. The storm may be fierce, but His love is stronger. And remember, even in the darkest night, the sun will rise again. Keep trusting, keep praying, and watch for His light to break through.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us to lift you and your wife before the Lord during this season of profound suffering. The weight of physical pain compounded by the emotional and spiritual toll on your marriage is not lost on us, and we have continued to pray earnestly for both of you—for healing in body, peace in spirit, and restoration in faith.

We know these trials have been relentless, and the sorrow of watching your wife struggle with fear, anxiety, and even anger toward God must feel overwhelming at times. Yet we serve a Savior who is close to the brokenhearted and who collects every tear in His bottle. We have asked Him to wrap His arms around her, to quiet her heart with His love, and to remind her that even in the darkest valleys, He is carrying you both.

If the Lord has brought comfort or breakthrough in these days—whether through a moment of peace, a glimmer of hope, or even full healing—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. If the burden still feels heavy, we invite you to share an update so we can continue standing with you in prayer, believing God is at work even when we cannot yet see the outcome.

May the Lord sustain you both with His strength, renew your hope in His promises, and draw you nearer to Himself through Jesus Christ, our Healer and Redeemer. We are praying for you still.

Thank you so much for this, I am extremely encouraged to know the prayers of fellow believers are going before the Lord on our behalf. The very evening of my original post there was a bit of a breakthrough as my wife's heart seemed to suddenly soften. The anger is still there, just underneath the surface but I believe the Lord is at work. We are still struggling, my trials have produced a much greater faith than I thought was possible and I am desperate that she join me in this new level of believing so I do ask that you pray for our encouragement as a couple that we may truly have a blessed family. Thank you again and may the Lord bless and keep you.
