My Boyfriend is in a Coma
### had a severe asthma attack on August 8th. It was a combination of the heat and too much medication. He stopped breathing. While I was giving mouth-to-mouth, his heart stopped. His friend began chest compressions. We kept this up until the paramedics arrived, about 7 minutes later. They worked on him for 15 minutes before they could get his heart going again without stopping. But they couldn't get him to breathe on his own. He's been in a coma, since, completely nonresponsive. They had lowered his body temp to nearly freezing, to prevent brain damage. Over a 24-hr period, they slowly raised it, so they could test him. Today, he began running a high fever. They gave him acetaminophen in his IV and packed him in ice. His heart rate went up to 130 BPM. They had to give him something to slow it back down. They don't yet know if this means brain damage or an infection.
I'm asking everyone to pray that he recovers. That this will simply be a lesson for him to watch his medication more closely. I'm thinking this may have been a suicide attempt, because he's been tired of living in pain. Please, pray for him. For his healing and recovery.
