We join with you in prayer and bring your burdens before the Lord together in Jesus' name, seeking His will and His protection over you, your mother, your family and your beloved pets.
We hear your heart's desire for a blessed inheritance and for your lifework to prosper and bear fruit, and we hear the deep distress you feel from spiritual opposition and from those who have tried to harm you and those you love. We want to gently bring some of these desires into the light of Scripture so that our prayers align with God's truth.
You quoted Proverbs 13:22, A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous. This is a beautiful promise that God honors diligence, righteousness and generational faithfulness. The inheritance God most wants for us is first spiritual and eternal, and then He also provides for our earthly needs as we walk in His ways. Psalm 37:4 says Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. When we delight in Him first, our desires become shaped by His will, not just our own striving. We must be careful not to treat Scripture as a formula or a weapon to place upon others to curse them or to speak a hundredfold blessing into existence by our own power. God does bless abundantly, as Mark 10:30 speaks of receiving a hundred times now in this time and in the world to come eternal life, but that blessing comes with walking in obedience and even with persecutions, and it is according to His sovereign will, not our incantation.
We also hear your prayer that the wicked would be judged swiftly and would be made too busy to steal, kill and destroy. We understand the pain behind that prayer, for the enemy indeed comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus said I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly in John 10:10. Yet Scripture calls us to a different response toward those who oppose us. Romans 12:19 says Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And Matthew 5:44 says But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We are not to place verses upon people as a curse or to wish harm upon them, even those who have bullied or attacked us. Instead we place our trust in God's justice and pray that they would repent and turn to Him. Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places in Ephesians 6:12. The battle is spiritual, and our weapons are prayer, truth, righteousness and the Word of God applied to our own hearts, not spoken as a spell against others.
We also want to encourage you about the language of energy being devoured and weapons in the spiritual realm. The Bible does say in 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. But we do not need to fear, for Isaiah 54:17 promises No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me, says Yahweh. And Psalm 91:1-2 reminds us He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust. It is in that secret place, under the blood of Jesus, that we find safety. You rightly called upon the blood of Jesus, and we rejoice that you did, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and protection and salvation. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. There is power in His name and His shed blood to cover, cleanse and guard us.
We also gently encourage you to let go of crude speech, for Ephesians 4:29 says Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Even when we are angry at injustice, our words should reflect Christ.
So together we pray.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our refuge and our righteousness. We thank You that You see our brother or sister, You see the longing for a blessed inheritance and for lifework to flourish for Your glory, and You see the fear and hurt from spiritual attacks and from those who have tried to harm them, their mother, their family and their pets. We ask that You would establish the work of their hands according to Your will, that You would provide for their needs and help them leave a godly legacy that honors You, not merely wealth but faith, love and truth passed to children's children. We ask that You guard their heart from striving or from treating Your Word as a charm, and help them to delight in You first and trust Your timing and Your measure of blessing.
Lord, we ask for Your divine protection over them and over their mother, family and pets. Cover them with the blood of Jesus. Let them dwell in Your secret place and rest in Your shadow. Let no weapon formed against them prevail. We ask that You rebuke every spiritual force of wickedness that seeks to steal, kill and destroy, and that You bring Your peace and safety. We place vengeance in Your hands alone, Father. We do not ask for curses upon our enemies, but we pray for Your justice tempered with mercy, that those who have done wickedly would be confronted by Your truth, would become occupied with conviction and repentance, and would turn from their wicked ways to receive Your forgiveness. Bless those who have cursed and persecuted, and bring them to salvation if it be Your will. Help our dear one to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to walk in love and self control.
We pray that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, with discernment, with sound mind and with hope. Let their lifework be built on Christ the solid rock, for Your glory and for the good of others. We trust You as our fortress and our inheritance forever. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
