My husband fear in financial money

Thank you for sharing your heart and for asking for prayer for your husband. Your concern for him and your desire for him to trust the Lord Jesus more deeply with his finances is heard, and we are praying with you.

Financial worry can become a heavy burden. It often comes from looking at savings and resources as our true security, and then living in fear that they will go down. Scripture invites us to a different place. God is not in financial crisis and He is not broke. He is King over all the earth and He sits upon His holy throne. He owns all things and He is well able to care for His children. When He guides us to do something, He provides what is needed, and when He provides resources, He guides us in how to use them wisely for His purposes and for the good of others. Security is not found in the size of an account but in resting in the eternal God.

That rest is something God promises to His people. The Bible speaks of entering into His rest, where anxiety and turmoil are replaced by the peace of Christ filling the heart and mind. That does not mean we have no responsibilities. It means we acknowledge that we cannot in ourselves produce the peace or the provision we need, but God is at work in us both to desire and to do what pleases Him. As we trust Him, we can live with open hands rather than clenched fists. One man in Scripture started out trusting God fully and saw great victories, but later turned to trust in human strength and human solutions instead of the Lord, and it led to sorrow. Whenever we fall back to trusting our own wisdom and strategies rather than the Lord, we put ourselves in a more dangerous and anxious position. Learning to trust God again brings strength, peace and true security.

For your husband, this may mean bringing his fears honestly to the Lord in prayer, remembering how God has already provided, and asking God to help him factor God back into every financial decision. The psalmist knew what it was to feel cast down and anxious, and his answer was to say to his own soul, hope in God. Putting God back into the equation changes our perspective. Instead of asking what if the money runs out, we can ask, Lord, how would You have me steward what You have placed in my hands today. God is looking for hearts that are fully turned toward Him, so that He can channel His resources through them for His work. A life in that flow becomes rich in the right way, because it is aligned with what God wants to do.

Part of that stewardship includes giving and spending. God does not want giving that is done under pressure, guilt or compulsion. He loves a cheerful giver, one who gives freely and joyfully in response to how much God has already given. If your husband feels pressure to hold tightly to everything out of fear, or pressure from others to give, neither reflects God's heart. The Lord invites cheerful, willing generosity, not fearful hoarding and not forced giving. You can encourage your husband that wise saving is good, but saving driven by fear can make the heart smaller, while trusting God makes a person better and more generous over time. Serving the true and living God always works for our good and makes us more like Christ.

You also mentioned a painful situation with a pastor who lent money, has now been repaid, but has tried to control and threaten your husband when there is disagreement. That is not the biblical pattern for spiritual leadership. Pastors are called to shepherd and teach the Word and to help people know God, not to use money or threats to control others. It is right that the debt has been repaid, and it is good to leave that matter settled without ongoing obligation or manipulation. Your husband can be respectful and at peace as far as it depends on him, while also setting clear and calm boundaries. If threats continue, it is wise to seek counsel from another mature and godly believer outside that situation and to not make decisions out of intimidation. Forgiveness and release of bitterness will also help your husband not carry that weight into his view of God and money.

We are praying for your husband that God will quiet his fear about finances, that he will experience that deep rest and peace that comes from trusting Jesus Christ fully, and that he will know God's faithful provision day by day. We pray he will grow in confidence that God can and will provide, without putting limits on God because of what he has or has not seen before, and that he will be free to steward money wisely without being ruled by anxiety. We also pray for protection and wisdom in the relationship with that pastor, for freedom from control, and for your home to be filled with hope in God and joy in His goodness.

May the Lord show you both how to press closer to Him together, to seek first His kingdom, and to trust Him to add what you need.
