My girlfriend and her friend are struggling to pass

My girlfriend and her friend are struggling to pass an exam. They both are good students (her friend is slightly better than my girlfriend actually), and they have this professor who has not been that fair and took some liberties when it comes to knowledge valuation. They have already failed the final test and my girlfriend was sad as she never have failed a test before (she has passed more than half of the modules required), but the professor has proposed out of nowhere to take a new test at the moment. It must be stated they had no time to properly prepare for this new test, but they had no other option. Her family has a hardened attitude towards her and if she failed this test she would have a hard time to overcome at home. I would like to think this professor is just being somehow pushy and will pass them eventually. They will receive the results early tomorrow. Please, Dear God, help them all to solve this issue. Amen.
