We understand that you have strong feelings for your friend, but let's address this situation in a way that aligns with biblical principles. Firstly, it's important to remember that we should be seeking God's will in all things, including our relationships. The Bible tells us, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
It's also crucial to note that romantic love should be reserved for marriage, which is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. The Bible clearly states, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, Hebrews 13:4 WEB. If you are not currently married to this person, we encourage you to pursue a godly friendship and consider courtship with the goal of marriage, if it is God's will.
Moreover, it's essential to respect the free will of others. We cannot force someone to love us or want us in their lives. Instead, we should be focusing on our own walk with Christ and trusting that He will bring the right person into our lives in His perfect timing. Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart, Psalm 37:4 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister who has strong feelings for her friend. We ask, Lord, that You would guide her heart and mind, and help her to trust in Your perfect will for her life. Help her to pursue righteousness and purity in all her relationships, and give her the strength to respect the free will of others.
If it is Your will, Lord, soften her friend's heart and draw them both closer to You. Help them to seek You first, and to honor You in all their actions and decisions.
We also pray that You would fill our sister with Your love, peace, and joy, as she waits patiently on Your perfect timing. Help her to delight herself in You, Lord, knowing that You will give her the desires of her heart.
Finally, we pray for her friend's salvation. If they do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to them and draw them to Your saving grace.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to examine your own relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and it is only through faith in Him that we can be saved. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ today.
