We lift up this situation before the Lord, knowing that all things are possible through Christ who strengthens us. First, we must address that this prayer request does not invoke the name of Jesus, and it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Let us always approach God in the name of Jesus, for He is our mediator and the only way to the Father.
We also encourage you, ###, to consider whether you have first spoken to your friend, ###, in love and truth about his lack of focus at work. The Bible instructs us, *"Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in some trespass, you who are spiritual should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted."* (Galatians 6:1, WEB). It is right to pray, but we must also act in obedience to God’s Word by addressing the matter with wisdom and grace.
As for the boss at ###, we pray that God would grant him discernment and the right words to speak to ###, not in anger or frustration, but in a way that encourages responsibility and diligence. *"Masters, give to your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven."* (Colossians 4:1, WEB). May this situation be an opportunity for ### to grow in character, remembering that whatever he does, he should do it heartily as unto the Lord. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that you will receive the reward of the inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ."* (Colossians 3:23-24, WEB).
Let us also pray for you, ###, that God would give you wisdom in how to support your friend. If ### is struggling with distractions or personal challenges, may he turn to the Lord for strength and direction. *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up ### and his work ethic. Lord, we ask that You would convict his heart and renew his mind to focus on his responsibilities with excellence and integrity. Give his boss at ### the wisdom to address this situation in a way that honors You and encourages growth. We pray that ### would not merely work for the approval of men but as unto You, Lord, knowing that You see and reward faithfulness.
We also ask for Your guidance for ### as he seeks to be a godly influence in his friend’s life. May Your Holy Spirit lead him in truth and love, and may ### be open to correction and willing to change. Let this be a time of spiritual reflection for him, that he may draw closer to You and seek Your will in all things.
Finally, Lord, we pray that if there are deeper struggles in ###’s life—whether spiritual, emotional, or otherwise—You would reveal them and provide the help he needs. May he turn to You for strength and find his purpose in serving You faithfully.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
