My fiancee just confessed a major lie

Hi all' so at lunch today my fiancee calls me and says he has a confession to make. This is a man I prayed about, asked you all to pray about and then the prayer was answered. Well a little history about what happened today, a year ago i asked him if he had any tattoo's of ex-girlfriends name, he said no. today he calls me and says that for last year he's been lying about it and he does have an girlfriends name tattood on his hip. he said he felt convicted and before we get married he wanted to come clean, get it removed, and ask me to forgive him.

i'm having a hard time forgiving him. i can say the words to him, " I forgive you", but I'm devastated. this is a man who has prayed with me and with my daughter about the effects of lying, has told my daughter not to lie because God says not to lie, he looked me in the face just two days ago when i asked him if he had any unresolved issues with his past and he looked right at me and said no.

Well today is another story & I'm devastated, soul sick, and don't want to make any rash decisions. the wedding is in a month so i'd have to cancel flights, try to sell the wedding gown my parents bought me, stop the officiant from writing the vows, cancel the hotel, cancel the bridal shower, our wedding rings were custom made in Israel, i don't know what i'd do with those. i'd have to try to break the 10 month lease we just signed for a 2 bedroom apartment.

what do i do?

Sarah, I remember the woman that was caught in adultry, they told Jesus & wanted to stone her. You know the rest of the story, well Jesus said "THOSE WHO ARE WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE". Sarah who is without sin that you know? Sarah God said in His word "those who says they have not sin, they are liars & the truth of God is not in them".

PETER DENIED JESUS 3 TIMES, 3 times not just 1 time. 3 big lies to the Son of God)Yet after Jesus rose from the dead, He restore Peter.

The disciple asked Jesus about forgiveness & how many times should one forgive, Jesus said "70 x 7 a day =490 times a day

The disciples asked Jesus how to pray

Jesus said in Matt 6:12 " forgive us our debts AS we forgive our debtors.

This is conditional, if you don't forgive others, God will not forgive you, He will not hear your /our prayers.

Sarah, when I became a christian, God dealt with me on forgiveness. I was hurt as a teen by my mom. I felt a lot of rejection. I wasn't treated right by her, I even thought I was not biological related. I was hurt constantly, every day. I got married in my twenties. I was deceived by my husband, and others. God dealt with me. In my heart I didn't want to forgive them, & in my heart I wanted to please God, for I love Him. So I said to God, I am doing it just for You, & only You. I confessed everyday that I forgave them even when I didn't feel it.

One day, I told God to forgive them even more for me. I asked God to wipe away the wrong from them. I said "God do not record it, & lets pretend they didn't do anything wrong to me.

On the cross, Jesus forgave his tormentors and He ask God to forgave.

People do stupid things when they love or think they are in love, especially with tatoeing each other names. A mistake was done in the past. Your mate may have been ashamed, fearfull that maybe why he lied.( Shame & fear). Sarah it can be removed. Look how many men & women is trying to save their marriages when their mate is living an adulterous life style. Even God honors that.

God is about forgiveness and restoration

Just at it again, Sarah. You have been hurt, but forgive.
