My daughter will get out of detox today

Leaving detox is a big step, and your love for your daughter and granddaughter comes through so strongly. It’s clear that you’re holding onto hope with everything in you, and that hope is not misplaced. These first days out are often the hardest, when old patterns can feel familiar and new routines haven’t yet settled in. We’re glad you reached out.

Right now, your daughter needs more than a strong will. She needs a place where she can be real about the struggle without shame, and where others who understand can walk alongside her. Many people find that a Christ-centered recovery group, like Celebrate Recovery or a similar program, makes all the difference in the early weeks. If she’s open to it, you might gently ask if anyone at the detox facility can connect her with a sponsor or a local group before she walks out the door. Having that connection in place today can help her not feel so alone.

You’re also carrying the weight of what’s at stake for your granddaughter. We know the foster care system is hard on children, and the thought of her being taken again is heavy. You’re right to pray for your daughter’s choices, not just for her own sake but for her little girl’s. As you hold them both before the Lord, remember that you’re not standing in the gap alone, others are praying with you.

Jesus, we lift up this daughter to you now. You know every fear and hope in this family. Give her courage to reach for your help and for the practical help she needs. Surround her with people who will speak truth and offer steady support. Protect her daughter, and give this grandmother thy peace that passes understanding. We ask for a future where both mother and child thrive in freedom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thank you for your prayers

How often the fears of a mother’s heart become the very arrows of the enemy, whispering that the case is hopeless. Yet your prayer is raised to the God who sees: He who neither slumbers nor sleeps observes every tear and hears every sigh. He it is who must bring deliverance, for it is not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit alone that the iron chain of strong drink can be snapped. Pray for your daughter that she may receive the kingdom of God as a little child, with simple reliance upon the finished work of Christ, for only the blood of the Lamb can cleanse and keep.

There is a ransom found; God has devised a way of deliverance from the pit, and He is able to restore the years the locust has eaten, both for her and for the young life entrusted to her. Yet true liberty is not license to return to the old bondage, but a glad surrender to the easy yoke of Jesus. Continue to bring your household before the throne, for the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord will lift him up. Persevere in supplication, and look for the answer, expecting that He who has begun a good work will complete it unto the day of Christ.

Cast the burden of the foster care upon the Lord; He who sets the solitary in families can preserve that little one, and in His time, if it pleases Him, restore mother and child together in a home where the fear of God drives out the love of the bottle. Only let the seeking soul trust wholly in the Deliverer, and not in a mere resolve of her own.
Thank you for your prayers

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer is heard, for you have come to the Great Physician with a faith that cries out for mercy. Do not let the sight of your daughter’s release from detox bring only relief mixed with fear; instead, see it as the first glimmer of light piercing a thick cloud. The love of strong drink, like an evil humor, has blinded her soul, but Christ can restore sight to those who learn how they were blinded and turn from their wicked desire.

Exhort your daughter now to forget the things of her fathers’ house, not her family, but her former life enslaved to that idol. Bid her to hearken and consider, so that the King may greatly desire her beauty, the beauty of a repentant soul washed clean. When the Lord called the bleeding woman “daughter,” it was her faith that made her a child of God. So too, if your daughter reaches out in true faith, even after so many falls, she will hear those words of cheer: “Thy faith hath made thee whole.”

God endured the loss of all things to test Job’s virtue, and when Job wrestled nobly, He restored everything. Your daughter may face the cross of losing custody again if she falters, but bear that trial thankfully, for a greater reward awaits the steadfast. Yet do not cast away your confidence, which has great recompense of reward. You have not lost it, you still possess it. Hold fast to it, and urge her to do the same. Even those who worked miracles and endured persecutions, then stumbled, could recover themselves if they shook off drowsiness. So too, she may rise again.

Your faith, like that of the Canaanite woman, contributes not a little to her healing. Christ did not need to say, “Let your little daughter be made whole”; He saw the woman’s persistent trust and declared, “Be it unto thee even as thou wilt.” Your intercession is that key. Therefore, do not let the fear of the past guide your prayers, but encourage her with hope: the path to a healthy, sober life is open, and the Lord will give strength if she seeks His help with a broken and contrite heart. Let her not look back at the vomit of former days, but press forward to the prize of a life raised with her child in the fear of God.

I hear the ache behind every word of your prayer for your daughter and your granddaughter. When a mother, or a grandmother, cries out to Jesus like this, you are joining a long line of desperate women who refused to let anything stand between them and the mercy they needed.

Think of the woman from the region of Tyre and Sidon whose daughter was in terrible spiritual bondage. She came to Jesus, and at first He seemed silent. The disciples wanted her sent away. But she would not stop. She knelt, she worshipped, and she pressed in until Jesus said, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed that very hour. That is the kind of tenacious faith that moves heaven. Do not let silence or setbacks convince you to stop asking. Keep bringing your daughter before the throne of grace, and do not go away without receiving what you need.

At the same time, I want to remind you of another woman whose heart was bound up with a younger one: Naomi. She loved her daughter-in-law Ruth with a protective, guiding love. After Ruth had done what was right and put herself in a humble, vulnerable place, Naomi told her, “Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter will fall. For the man will not rest until he has settled it today.” You have done what a godly grandmother can do, you have prayed and you have loved. Now, in one sense, you can sit still before the Lord, trusting that your Redeemer does not rest. He is already at work preparing the way for your daughter’s full recovery and for that little girl to be safe with her mother again.

Jesus placed a high value on honoring and caring for family. He sharply corrected those who tried to use religious dedication as an excuse to neglect their own parents or children. Your persistent prayer for your daughter is an act of true honor, because you are laboring for her wholeness and for the stability of her child. God does not dismiss that; He honours a love that refuses to give up.

Your daughter is walking out of detox today. That is a step, but she will need steady hands and a heart pointed toward Jesus to keep walking. Pray that she will seek His help, not just for the detox weeks but for a whole new life. And as you pray, remember the little granddaughter He has placed in your heart. Jesus loves little children; He will not forget her or leave her to the chaos that addiction brings. Even when you feel powerless, you are not without a mighty Intercessor.

Stay close to Jesus yourself, just as Ruth stayed close to Naomi. Let your daughter see in you a living faith that does not waver. And when fear whispers that she might lose her child to foster care again, answer with the truth: God can keep what you have committed to Him, and He is able to restore the years the locusts have eaten. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep loving them both with the stubborn, tender love that comes from above.

We are so grateful that you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand in prayer with you during this critical time for your daughter. It has been on our hearts to continue lifting her up before the Lord, asking for His healing power to break every chain of addiction and restore her spirit, mind, and body. We have prayed earnestly that she would feel the overwhelming love of Jesus drawing her closer to Him, that she would seek His strength daily, and that His peace would guard her heart as she steps forward in recovery.

We also prayed for wisdom and favor in her situation with foster care, asking the Lord to open doors that no man can shut and to provide the support and resources she needs to keep her family together. We believe God hears the cries of a mother’s heart and is working even now to bring about His perfect will in her life and the life of her little one.

If the Lord has already moved in a mighty way—if your daughter is walking in freedom, if her situation with custody has improved, or if you’ve seen His hand at work in any way—we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can all give thanks together. If, however, the battle still feels heavy and you need us to keep pressing in with you, we encourage you to post this request again. We are here to stand with you, to intercede, and to believe with you for complete breakthrough and restoration.

May the Lord bless you with His presence, comfort you with His peace, and fill you with hope as you continue to trust in Him. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
