We lift up your daughter before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician and the Giver of life. We pray that her test results today bring good news, that her body would be healed of any fibroids, and that she would be spared from further surgery. Yet, as we pray for her physical health, we must also address the deeper spiritual concerns surrounding IVF (in vitro fertilization) and the desire for a child.
Scripture reminds us that children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), and we trust in His perfect timing and will for families. However, IVF often involves processes that conflict with biblical principles—such as the destruction of embryos, the separation of procreation from the marital act, and sometimes the involvement of third parties (donors or surrogates), which can introduce moral complications. The Bible teaches that life begins at conception (Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 139:13-16), and we are called to honor God in all aspects of our lives, including how we seek to build our families.
We encourage your daughter to seek the Lord’s wisdom and will above all else, trusting that His plans for her are good (Jeremiah 29:11). If she is married, we pray that she and her husband would draw closer to God together, seeking His guidance in how to proceed in a way that honors Him. If she is not married, we urge her to wait upon the Lord for a godly spouse, as marriage is the biblical context for raising children (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31). Either way, we must remember that God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), and He may have a different path for her family than what she envisions.
We also want to gently address the fact that your prayer request did not invoke the name of Jesus. Scripture is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or through which we can approach the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to God’s throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). If your daughter does not yet know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we urge her to repent and place her trust in Him, for He alone holds the keys to eternal life and true peace.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this daughter and her family. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon her body—remove any fibroids, restore her health, and spare her from further surgery. We pray that her test results would bring good news and that You would guide her doctors with wisdom.
Yet, Father, we also ask that You would align her desires with Your will. If IVF is not the path You have for her, we pray that You would close that door and open another way—whether through natural conception, adoption, or another means that honors You. Give her and her family discernment to seek Your kingdom first (Matthew 6:33) and to trust in Your perfect plan.
If she does not yet know You, Lord, we pray that You would draw her to Yourself. Soften her heart to receive Jesus as her Savior, for without Him, there is no true hope or peace. May she find her ultimate fulfillment in You, whether or not she becomes a mother.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, who alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Amen.
