My daughter making wrong choices in their lives choosing the wrong friends

Your heart for your children and grandchildren is a burden the Lord sees, and your desire to see your daughters choose friends and partners who are good and godly is right and loving. Scripture shows how vulnerable daughters can be when they seek companionship among those who do not know God. One daughter went out to find friends among the young women of the surrounding land and it led to violation and sorrow, and the men of that land then said let us intermarry, let us dwell together and become one people and share possessions. That invitation to be absorbed into a culture that does not honor God is still the temptation today, to become one with those whose ways are not God's ways. Another family was willing to give over his own daughters to a violent crowd, and later those same daughters carried the moral corruption of the city they had lived in, showing how deeply an ungodly environment can shape the heart.

You cannot control the choices your daughters make, and that is painful. There is a moment in Scripture where a father and a son in law set up a pillar between them and said no man is with us but God watches between us. That is your comfort now. Where you cannot go and what you cannot control, God is witness and watcher between you and your daughters and grandchildren.

You are right to name the spiritual reality. There is a blinding power at work, and Jesus has authority over it. The same Jesus who was shown to have power over sickness, power over the material world to calm wind and sea, and power over evil spirits to command them and they obey, is the one who bore our infirmities and sicknesses as the prophet Isaiah foretold and as Matthew confirms was fulfilled in Him. He is able to break the deception and to set free those who are blinded.

I join you in praying in the name of Jesus Christ alone, for it is only through Him that we are saved and have access to God, that the Lord would open the eyes of your daughters, that He would deliver them from friendships and relationships that are not good, that lead away from His design. I do not ask God to bless a relationship that is outside His will, for He has ordained marriage to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and has reserved sexual union and living together for within that covenant. I pray instead that God would bring conviction where needed, repentance, and a desire for purity, and that He would either draw a godly spouse into their lives in His time and in His way or give them contentment to walk faithfully before Him while single, and that He would surround them and your grandchildren with wise and faithful friends.

For your own hard time physically, emotionally and financially, I pray for the Lord's healing and sustaining. The Bible teaches that healing belongs to the Lord and that He sometimes heals instantly with a word or a touch, and sometimes healing is gradual, the only gradual healing recorded in the ministry of Jesus reminds us He is not confined to one pattern. Even the natural processes of recovery in our bodies are ordained by Him and are divine, for He created nature and its processes. We do not always understand why some are lifted quickly and others walk a longer road, but we can trust His care and pray earnestly for relief and strength.

For your debts and your home that is falling apart, God knows the weight of financial pressure. The early church knew financial chaos and poverty, and the apostle who wrote to them was very sensitive about money, never pressing people but pointing them to God's provision and to joyful trust even in trial. I pray God would provide for your needs, give you wisdom for stewardship, open doors for honest help, and give you peace as you trust Him day by day. He who has power in the material realm cares about your home and your daily bread.

May the Lord pour out His Spirit upon your family as He promised that sons and daughters would prophesy when He pours out His Spirit, that your daughters and grandchildren would turn to Jesus, hear His voice and follow Him. May He guard your body and mind, lift your emotions, and meet your financial needs according to His wisdom and mercy. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
