Please add my Dad, Harry to your prayers. He needs the Heavenly Father’s healing grace.
On November 17th my Dad was in serious stomach pain, so much that he fell to the floor at his house and couldn't move. I called him and my sister ended up taking him immediately to the ER. The diagnosis was pancreatitis (inflammation/infection of the pancreas). He was placed in the ICU and pumped full of pain meds, antibiotics and they gave him insulin.
The next day they found that he had a pancreatic duct stone so they planned surgery. The surgery was successful but when they used anesthesia he had to be put on a ventilator because he wasn't breathing well. He has not been able to be taken off of the ventilator over the last 4 days.
Today we found out that although the pancreatitis is almost gone there are other issues that we did not know about that are impeding his healing. We found out that he has type 2 diabetes, he has the beginning of lung disease called pulmonary obstruction disease or something like that and he is going through alcohol withdraws. We knew he had blood pressure problems, but they are struggling to control that too.
At this point it is really day to day. He has been in full detox for the past two days, the lung disease has weakened his lungs which is why they can get him off the ventilator and oxygen and his diabetes is going nuts because his pancreas was not producing insulin like it was supposed to for as long as two weeks before he got so sick that he had to go to the ER.
Each one of the issues that he is dealing with are survivable, but the next five days of the detox will be crucial. He has developed a fever as a result his blood pressure is fluctuating and his breathing is labored at times.
