Qaomere

Disciple of Prayer
BROTHER I HAVE REQUESTED PRAYER PREVIOUSLY REGARDING THIS ISSUE, I AM ALMOST IN MID TWENTIES I AM SAVING FOR THE MARRIAGE EXPENSE ALMOST 80 PERCENTAGE SAVED BUT MY DAD IS DELAYING IT, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THIS DESIRE TO GET MARRIED AND SOMEONE IS DELAYING IT. ITS REALLY GOING BEYOND MY HEAD, DUE TO WHICH I DONT HAVE GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM AT ALL. I DONT KNOW WHY GOD GAVE THIS DESIRE EARLIER IF HE WANTED TO GET ME MARRIED DELAYED AND WITH WORST PERSON BELOW MY EXPECTATION. I AM REALLY AFRAID IN A SITUATION I COULD DO SOMETHING TO MYSELF. BECAUSE OF THIS TENSION I CANT EVEN FOCUS ON MY WORK. I DONT KNOW WHAT KIND OF A LIFE WITHOUT A GOOD PERSON IN MY LIFE. IF EVERYTHING IS PREDESTINED AND NO FREEWILL TO MARRY THEN WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF BEING ALIVE. AND WHY ITS WRITTEN IN BIBLE. SEEING MY FRIENDS GETTING MARRIED AND I AM SINGLE. ITS VERY DIFFICULT TO STAY PATIENT ANYMORE. I AM READY TO MARRY OUT OF RELIGION ALSO. SOMEHOW GOD SHOULD HELP ME OUT OR ELSE BETTER TO TAAKE MY LIFE WITH HEART ATTACK OR SOMETHING ELSE ALREADY MY BP IS HIGH BECAUSE OF THIS TENSION. THIS IS ALSO WILL OF GOD ?

We have heard your heart and the heavy burden you are carrying, and we are joining you in prayer together in Jesus' name over this deep desire for marriage, the delay you are experiencing with your father, the tension in your home, and the despair that has led you to thoughts of harming yourself.

We want to gently but firmly rebuke the thought that it would be better to take your own life or to wish for a heart attack. Your life is precious to God and is not your own to take. You are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14 and your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. God has a purpose for your life that is far greater than even marriage, to know Him, to glorify Him and to walk with Him. The purpose of being alive is not only marriage, though marriage is a good and holy gift. Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God 1 Corinthians 10:31 and remember to fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man Ecclesiastes 12:13. It is not the will of God for you to harm yourself, and He desires to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. We plead with you not to remain alone in these thoughts, please reach out right now to a trusted pastor, family member, godly counselor, or medical professional, and if you feel you may act on these thoughts please seek help immediately. Your high blood pressure and anxiety also show how deeply this tension is affecting you, so we encourage you to care for your health and cast your cares on Him.

We also hear your frustration with your father and the broken relationship between you. While we understand your pain in waiting, Scripture calls us to honor your father and your mother Exodus 20:12 that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth Ephesians 6:2-3. Even when we disagree with our parents, we are called to show respect and honor and to pursue peace as much as it depends on us Romans 12:18. We commend you for diligently saving almost eighty percent for marriage expenses, this shows stewardship and preparation and the plans of the diligent surely lead to profit Proverbs 21:5. Your desire to be married in your mid twenties is good, for it is not good that the man should be alone Genesis 2:18 and he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from Yahweh Proverbs 18:22 and marriage is to be held in honor among all Hebrews 13:4. Yet God also has an appointed time for everything Ecclesiastes 3:1 and we are called to wait for Yahweh and be strong and let your heart take courage Psalm 27:14 and those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength Isaiah 40:31. Seeing friends marry while you wait is very difficult, but we are exhorted not to fret or compare, but to be still before Yahweh and wait patiently for him Psalm 37:7 and to delight yourself also in Yahweh and he will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4.

We must also lovingly correct you regarding saying you are ready to marry out of religion also. This is not aligned with biblical principles and would bring great spiritual harm. We are instructed not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness and iniquity or what fellowship has light with darkness 2 Corinthians 6:14. A godly marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman who both belong to Christ, pursuing Him together, and courtship should be with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. Marrying outside the faith, even out of desperation or delay, will not solve the loneliness but will create deeper conflict for your soul, your family and your future children. We also urge you to keep yourself pure until marriage, for any sexual intimacy outside of marriage is fornication and not God's will for you 1 Corinthians 6:18. We pray for a godly spouse who loves the Lord, not someone below expectation in character and faith, for God knows what is best even when His choice looks different from ours.

You asked about predestination and free will and why God would give a desire early if He delays marriage. God is sovereign and works all things together for good for those who love Him Romans 8:28, yet He also gives us real choices and calls us to choose life Deuteronomy 30:19 and to trust in Yahweh with all your heart and not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. Your desire for marriage is from God and is good, but the timing and the fulfillment are in His hands. He is not punishing you with delay or with the worst person, He is shaping you, teaching patience, and preparing both you and your future spouse.

We noticed your request speaks of God but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is through Jesus we bring every burden, including this one, to the Father.

We pray together in Jesus' name for you. Father in heaven, we lift this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the longing for marriage, the savings made in diligence, the pain of a father's delay, the broken fellowship at home, the anxiety that makes it hard to focus on work, the high blood pressure and the sleepless tension, and the thoughts of despair. Lord we ask You to guard his heart and mind with Your peace which surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:6-7. Help him to cast all his anxiety on You because You care for him 1 Peter 5:7. Soften his father's heart and grant wisdom and favor in their conversations, help them to speak with honor and love and understanding. Restore their relationship. Grant this young man patience to wait on Your perfect timing and clarity to not be driven by comparison or desperation. Protect him from being unequally yoked and provide in Your time a godly wife who loves You, that their marriage may honor You. Show him that his life has purpose today, to glorify You right where he is, to work heartily as for You Colossians 3:23. Deliver him from all thoughts of self harm and fill him with hope, strength and the assurance that You are near to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to continue in your work with faithfulness, to honor your father even while humbly sharing your heart with him perhaps with the help of a wise pastor or elder, and to seek godly counsel and fellowship while you wait. Trust that God has not forgotten you and His delay is not denial. Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart.

We hear how heavy and exhausting this has become for you, and we are glad you reached out. When thoughts of harming yourself feel close, please reach out right now to someone you trust.

Waiting when you have done your part and saved faithfully, while your father delays and friends around you are moving forward, can feel confusing and lonely. It makes sense that tension is building, that work is hard to focus on, and that you are asking deep questions about purpose and God's will for your life. The strain you feel in your relationship with your father and the disappointment of waiting do not mean you are forgotten.

You mentioned your blood pressure is high with this tension. Please see a doctor promptly for that, alongside prayer, not instead of it, so you can get care and support for your health.

It may help to have one steady person to walk with you in this season, someone you trust like a pastor or mature family friend who can listen without pressure and, when you are ready, help you talk calmly with your father about next steps. You do not have to carry all these questions alone.

We pray for you now. Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus' name. Guard his life and his health, quiet his heart, give him safety and wise counsel around him, and lead him step by step with clarity and peace. Help him to know he is seen and cared for as he waits on You. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The burden you have poured out is felt, and it is right that you have brought it into the light rather than nursing it alone in the dark. Your desire for marriage is not in itself evil, for marriage is ordained of God and is honourable, but the trial you now endure is that of waiting, and waiting is a holy art which the Lord Himself must teach us.

You write that your father delays what you long for, that you have saved diligently, that your heart is strained toward your friends who are already married, and that you are tempted to think God has mocked you by giving a desire and then withholding its fulfillment, or by appointing for you one far below your hope. Hear this, that God does not tantalize His children. He is a waiting God who waits to be gracious, as it is written, Blessed are all they that wait for him. He often keeps us waiting not to punish us but to prove us, to wean us from self will, and to make the mercy sweeter when it comes in His own time. To run before the Lord is to wound your own feet.

You must labour to keep a right spirit toward your father. The command still stands, Honour thy father. Though you are near to mid twenties and provident in saving, which is commendable, you are not freed from reverence and meekness toward him. A bitter spirit toward a father will canker your own soul and will not hasten any good thing. Go to him not with contention but with quiet respect, open your heart plainly, ask his reasons, hear him as a son should, and seek the counsel of some godly older man in your church who may speak with you both. God often uses such mediation to soften hearts and to bring counsel to pass.

Despair is a grievous sin against the mercy of God, and you must denounce it as such. To say, let me take my life, or to wish for a heart attack that God might do what you dare not do, is to trample upon the blood of Christ which was shed to give you life, and to refuse the cordials which the Holy Spirit presents in the promises. Self destruction is not the will of God, nor is it escape. It is a leap into perdition, for our life is not our own to take, but the Lord's to give and to keep. Our heavenly Father has not brought you thus far to cast you away. If you trust your soul with Christ and with Christ alone, you cannot be cast away though your thoughts now tear you as the evil spirit tore the child while he was yet coming to Jesus. Go with this very temptation to the Mercy Seat and say, Father, are You there, will You keep me in this hour. He will with the temptation make a way of escape.

You ask concerning predestination and free will, and what purpose life has if all is fixed. Know this, that God is sovereign and man is responsible, and neither truth destroys the other. Your life is not purposeless while you wait. Your purpose today is to love the Lord your God with all your heart and to love your neighbour as yourself, for this is the law which God writes upon the new heart. It is not a law of mere outward restraint but of love. To live is to know Christ, to be conformed to Him, to serve Him in your daily work with all your might. You say you cannot focus on your work for tension and high blood pressure. That very work is the field where God would have you be faithful now. Do the right thing that lies before you and leave the result with God. Cast your anxiety upon Him, for He cares for you. If your body is pressed with high pressure and sleepless care, seek needful help and do not despise the means God provides, but above all learn to trust and not be afraid. Fear looks ahead and says, what shall I do when the rider on the pale horse comes, but faith looks to Christ and says, I will trust and not be afraid.

You say you are ready to marry out of the faith if only you may marry. I must speak plainly and in love, do not do this. The Scripture forbids the believer to be unequally yoked with an unbeliever, and marriage is a covenant before God of one man and one woman for life, to be entered only in the Lord. To break that rule to satisfy present longing is to sow sorrow for a lifetime and to set your soul in peril. The Lord who gave you the desire for marriage can provide a godly partner in His time, but He will never bless a path that turns away from Christ, who is the only way of salvation. Do not ask God to bless what His Word calls disobedience. Ask Him rather to keep you pure, to guard your heart from lust and haste, and to give you contentment in Him while you wait.

Seeing friends married while you remain single is a sharp trial, but comparison is a snare. Their path is not your measure. Your times are in His hand who made His own people to go forth like sheep, leading them by the right way though they knew it not. What seems delay to you is not forgetfulness in Him.

Therefore, take this counsel. First, flee to Christ anew and see that your soul is safe in Him, for without Him no marriage will satisfy. Second, bring your case daily to God in prayer, not in complaint but in trust, and believe that He hears. Third, seek peace with your father and godly counsel in your church. Fourth, keep your hands diligent in your work and your body in temperance, refusing to feed despair with idleness or impure thoughts. Fifth, put far from you every thought of self harm and speak at once to a faithful pastor or brother if those thoughts press again, that you may not be alone in the conflict.

May the Lord who writes His law of love upon the heart write patience there also, and keep you from the sin of despair, and in His good time provide for you as seems best to His infinite wisdom.

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and honestly. We have heard the weight of what you are carrying, the longing for marriage, the frustration with delay, the strain in your relationship with your father, the anxiety that makes it hard to work, and the painful thoughts that life may not be worth living. We are praying for you and we take your words seriously.

First, please know that your desire for marriage is itself good. God created marriage as a good gift, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and the longing for it is natural. At the same time marriage itself is not what gives life its ultimate purpose. Our purpose is to know Jesus Christ, to be forgiven and made new through Him alone, and to glorify God in whatever season He has us. Marriage, when it comes, is to be entered with moderation and reverence, not as the only source of meaning, but as one way to serve the Lord. Used rightly it is a blessing, used wrongly or hastily it can bring greater sorrow.

We understand how heavy it feels to wait, especially when you have worked diligently and saved most of what is needed, and when friends around you are marrying. Comparison makes waiting harder, but your path is not measured by theirs. God sees your diligence and your saving is a sign of faithful stewardship. Being in your mid twenties and still waiting does not mean you have been forgotten.

Regarding your father, Scripture calls us to honor our parents even when we disagree with them. That honor does not mean you cannot respectfully share your perspective, but it does mean keeping a posture of respect, patience and open communication. If conversation between you and your father has become strained, consider asking a wise and trusted pastor or a mature family member to come alongside you both to help you talk calmly, to understand his concerns, and to share yours. Often a father’s delay comes from concern, even if it is not expressed well, and a third person who loves you both can help bring clarity.

You asked about predestination, free will, and why the Bible speaks about these things. The Bible teaches that God is sovereign and that we are also responsible for our choices. He has not created you without purpose or without the ability to choose. He calls you to seek Him, to obey His word, and to make decisions within His will. Your life has purpose right now, not only after marriage, as you walk with Christ, grow in character, serve others, and do your work faithfully. Work itself is a calling from God, and learning to be faithful in daily duties is part of how He shapes us for the future.

You mentioned being ready to marry outside your faith to escape the waiting, and feeling afraid that God will give you someone far below your expectation. We want to speak gently and clearly here. Scripture teaches that a believer is to marry in the Lord, with someone who shares faith in Jesus Christ. Marrying outside the faith may seem like a quick solution to loneliness, but it often leads to deep spiritual conflict and pain for both people, and it moves away from God’s design for marriage. We cannot ask God to bless a path that goes outside what He has said is good. Instead we pray that God will give you patience to wait for a godly spouse within the faith, and the wisdom to not settle out of fear or pressure. Trust that God is not intending to give you the worst, but He does call you to trust His timing and His goodness even when you cannot see the outcome.

You also shared thoughts of harming yourself and hoping for a heart attack, and that your blood pressure is high from tension. Please hear this with care. Your life is precious to God and to those around you. Wanting to harm yourself is not the will of God for you. If you are feeling that you might act on these thoughts, please reach out right away to someone you trust, a pastor, a family member, a counselor, or a medical professional, and if you feel in immediate danger please seek emergency help in your area. You do not have to carry these thoughts alone. For your health, please also see a doctor about your blood pressure and the stress you are under. Caring for your body and mind is part of honoring God.

For the days ahead, here are some practical steps we encourage:

Seek the Lord daily through prayer and reading Scripture, asking not only for marriage but for peace, strength to honor your father, and contentment in Christ while you wait.

Keep communication with your father respectful and calm, and invite a pastor or elder to help mediate if needed.

Continue to be faithful in your work, asking God to help you focus on what is before you today, one step at a time.

Stay connected to a local church community where you can be encouraged, held accountable, and supported.

Seek godly counsel and, if needed, professional help for anxiety and the thoughts of self harm.

We are praying for you in this way: Father, we thank You for this young man, for his life, and for the good desire for marriage You have placed in his heart. We ask You to guard his life and mind, to lift the weight of despair, and to give him hope in Jesus Christ. Grant him peace that steadies his heart, wisdom to honor his father, patience to wait for Your timing, and grace to remain faithful in his work. Lead him to a godly marriage in Your will and Your time, and keep him from paths that would lead away from You. Help him to know how deeply he is loved and that his life has purpose in You today. Bring trusted people around him to support him and help him find care for his health. In the name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

Please do not walk through this alone. Stay in close fellowship with your pastor and let someone near you know how deeply you are struggling so they can walk with you. We will continue to pray that God gives you strength for each day, reconciles your relationship with your father, and guides your future according to His good will.
