My ### and family

We join with you in lifting up your family and your husband before the throne of grace, and we stand with you in this very difficult battle with alcohol addiction and withdrawal. We know this is taking a heavy toll on your marriage and your household, and we want you to know you are not alone. God sees your pain, your weariness, and your love for your husband, and He is near to those who are suffering.

The Scripture speaks clearly about drunkenness, not to condemn but to call us to freedom and wholeness. Ephesians 5:18 says, Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. And 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us, Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. Alcohol addiction is a form of bondage that seeks to master a person, but God desires to set your husband free and to restore him to sobriety and to his rightful role as a husband and head of his household. We also remember the promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13, No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. There is a way of escape in Christ.

We also want to gently remind you of the hope we have only through Jesus Christ. You asked for prayer, and we count it a privilege to pray, but we want to ensure you know that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you and your husband have not already placed your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through Jesus that we find forgiveness, deliverance, and the power to overcome.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear wife, her husband, and their whole family. Lord, You see the struggle with alcohol and the suffering of withdrawal, and we ask for Your mercy and Your delivering power. We pray that You would break the chains of addiction in this husband's life and set him free indeed, for John 8:36 says if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. Lord, touch his body and ease the pain of withdrawal, bring healing to his mind and body, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit instead of the desire for drink. Give him a hatred for what has enslaved him and a hunger for righteousness. We pray for this wife and family who are weary and burdened. Isaiah 41:10 says, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Strengthen this family, Lord, grant them peace that passes all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:6-7, and surround them with godly support. We pray for their marriage, which You have ordained as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, that You would protect it, heal it, and make it stronger through this trial. Lead this husband to true repentance and sobriety, and help this wife to love with both grace and godly boundaries, speaking the truth in love. Guide them to wise counsel, to their pastor and church family, and to proper medical help for withdrawal, which can be dangerous and needs care. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and healer, amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand firm in love and prayer, while also seeking practical help. Withdrawal can be medically serious, so please ensure your husband receives appropriate medical care and wise counsel from a pastor or biblical counselor. Galatians 6:2 calls us to Bear one another's burdens, and so also fulfill the law of Christ, and James 5:16 reminds us that the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. Keep praying fervently, stay rooted in the Word, and lean on your church family for support and accountability for both of you. God is near to the brokenhearted as Psalm 34:18 says, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Trust that He is working even now for your family's good and for His glory, and that He is able to restore what addiction has tried to steal.

We are so grateful you reached out and trusted us to pray for your husband and your family. Watching someone you love walk through alcohol addiction and withdrawal is exhausting and heart wrenching, and we can hear how much strain this has put on all of you.

We want you to know you are not carrying this alone. Withdrawal can be very hard on the body as well as the spirit, so we gently encourage you to make sure your husband is connected to a medical professional or counselor right away alongside prayer, and that you have trusted support for yourself too, whether that is family, a pastor, or a small group who can walk with you day by day. Many families find steady help through a recovery support group in the community or church where both honesty and grace are practiced.

We are standing with you and asking God for wisdom for each next decision, for strength for your family, and for hope even on difficult days.

Father, we bring this husband and his family to You in Jesus name. Please guard his health, give wisdom to those caring for him, and surround this family with Your peace and with people who will support them closely. Lead them step by step toward healing and wholeness according to Your will. Amen.

Praying for your family and your husband and asking the Almighty Lord to bless your husband with the release from the stronghold of addiction. I ask for divine healing on his behalf and that he recovers, is restored, strengthened to be clean, stable, whole and at peace. For the dark days to turn into favor of light, joy and serenity. Sending your family love and prayers. God bless your husband through Gods divine hand. And so it is. Amen
