Music, movies, playing, companions and others

Beloved of All
Dear Family Of God, Today I'd like to pray over some time consuming endeavors over the course of life. Inclusive and not exhaustive are, music, movies, playing (games, activities), drinking, dancing, working, spending time with companions/friends/neighbors/others and other times consuming events. I'd like to pray against principalities and powers of darkness in high places. I pray for extreme, unmatched, unstoppable, unspeakable, abundantly, abounding glory all over the world. Please stand with me in faith and prayer over this. All these things I humbly ask in Jesus Christ name with thanksgiving. Thank you.

We join with you in lifting these areas of life before the throne of grace, seeking the Lord’s wisdom, protection, and glory in all things. The activities and pursuits you’ve mentioned—music, movies, games, companionship, and more—can indeed become snares when they are not submitted to Christ or when they open doors to the enemy’s influence. We must be vigilant, for the apostle Paul warns us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." The forces of darkness seek to distort, distract, and destroy, but we stand firm in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already triumphed over them.

First, we rebuke every principality and power of darkness that seeks to infiltrate these areas of life. Whether through music that glorifies sin, movies that desensitize hearts to evil, or games and activities that foster addiction or idolatry, we declare that these strongholds have no place in the lives of believers. The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We take captive every thought and activity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5), ensuring that all we do brings glory to God (1 Corinthians 10:31).

We also address the companionship and social aspects you mentioned. While fellowship with others is a gift from God, we must guard our hearts and minds, for "bad company corrupts good character" (1 Corinthians 15:33). If any of these relationships lead us away from holiness or into sin—whether through drinking to excess, inappropriate dancing, or ungodly influences—we must prayerfully consider whether they align with God’s will. Proverbs 13:20 reminds us, "Walk with wise men, and you will become wise; but the companion of fools will suffer harm." Let us seek friendships that sharpen us in faith, not those that dull our spiritual sensitivity.

Regarding the glory you pray for—extreme, unmatched, unstoppable—we affirm that God’s glory is indeed boundless and worthy of all praise. However, we must ensure that our pursuit of His glory is not tainted by worldly desires or pride. The glory of God is most fully revealed in the person of Jesus Christ, who humbled Himself even to death on a cross (Philippians 2:8). As we seek His glory, let us do so with humility, surrender, and a heart to serve, not to be served.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the life You have given us and for the opportunities to enjoy the good gifts You provide. Yet we recognize that the enemy seeks to twist and pervert these gifts, turning them into idols or distractions from Your purpose. Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment to navigate these areas of life. Give us the strength to resist the devil, and he will flee from us (James 4:7).

Father, we rebuke every principality and power of darkness that seeks to infiltrate our music, movies, games, and social interactions. We declare that these areas belong to You, and we will not allow the enemy to have a foothold. Cleanse our hearts and minds from anything that does not align with Your Word. Help us to fill our lives with whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable (Philippians 4:8).

Lord, we pray for godly companionship—friends and neighbors who will encourage us in faith and hold us accountable. Protect us from relationships that lead us astray, and give us the courage to walk away from anything that dishonors You. May our social interactions be marked by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

Father, we long to see Your glory fill the earth, but we ask that Your glory be revealed in ways that draw people to You, not to ourselves. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and may Your name be exalted above all else. We surrender our time, our talents, and our treasures to You, asking that You use them for Your kingdom purposes.

Finally, Lord, we thank You for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37), and we declare that no weapon formed against us will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen us to live lives that reflect Your holiness and love, so that the world may see Your glory and turn to You.

We pray all these things in the powerful, precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We echo your prayer, dear friend, and join you in lifting these aspects of life before the throne of grace. We understand the struggle to balance enjoyment and godliness in the activities you've mentioned - music, movies, games, companionship, and more. It's a delicate dance, isn't it? We must ensure that these things bring us closer to God, not draw us away.

Let's remember the words of the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:31, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." Let's ask God for wisdom to discern what glorifies Him and what doesn't. Let's pray for the Holy Spirit's guidance in every decision we make, big or small.

We also need to be aware of the spiritual battle around us. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Let's stand firm in the power of God's mighty strength, which He gives us through Christ Jesus our Lord (Ephesians 6:10-11).

So, let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, asking for Your help in navigating the complexities of life. Give us wisdom to discern what is good, pleasing, and perfect in Your sight (Romans 12:2). Help us to enjoy the good gifts You've given us, but to always keep You at the center.

We pray against any spiritual influence that seeks to distort, distract, or destroy. We ask for Your protection over our minds and hearts. Help us to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

We also pray for our relationships. Help us to choose companions who will encourage us in our faith and hold us accountable. Give us the courage to walk away from anything that dishonors You.

Lastly, Lord, we pray for Your glory to be revealed in our lives. Help us to pursue Your glory with humility and a heart to serve. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
