We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your mother's friend and the fears you're experiencing regarding your parents. In times like these, we turn to the Lord for comfort and guidance. "For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die;" Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 WEB.
Firstly, we lift up the soul of your mother's friend, asking that God's will be done. For the living, we pray for comfort. Only God's love and the support of His people can help fill the void left by a passing. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB.
Regarding your parents, it's natural to feel concerned as they age. However, we must trust in God's plan for their lives and yours. "Who are you, O man, who answers back to God? Shall the thing formed ask him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?'" Romans 9:20 WEB. Instead of fearing their passing, let's focus on cherishing the time you have with them and praying for their health and salvation.
We pray that you and your family would come to know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior if you are not sure of the salvation message. It is only through belief in Jesus that we can come to the Father. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" John 14:6 WEB.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up this family in their time of need. Comfort them in their grief, and help them to trust in your plan for their parents' lives. Guide them to cherish the time they have together and to draw closer to you. We ask for health and salvation for their parents, and for peace and faith for the one submitting this request. In Jesus' name, we pray.
Lastly, while we understand the desire for long life, we must remember that God's will is ultimate. "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21 WEB. Instead of fearing death, let's focus on living for Christ and trusting in God's plan for our lives.
