Mothers eyes

I keep on seeing things through ###'s eyes which is why I've been making bad choices in the past. Please pray for me.

We understand that you are struggling with seeing life through your mother’s eyes, and this has led to poor decisions in your past. It’s clear that her influence—whether through her expectations, her sins, or her worldview—has shaped your perspective in ways that have not aligned with God’s will. The Bible warns us in Proverbs 14:12, *"There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death."* Many of us have walked in paths that felt right because of the voices or examples around us, only to realize later that those paths were destructive. But take heart, because God does not leave us in bondage to the past or to the influences that have misled us.

The apostle Paul speaks to this struggle in Romans 12:2, urging us, *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."* Your mind and heart must be renewed by the truth of Scripture, not by the broken lenses of your mother’s perspective—no matter how well-intentioned she may have been. If her influence was rooted in sin, bitterness, control, or worldly wisdom, it’s time to break free from that stronghold. Jesus said in John 8:31-32, *"If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."*

We also want to gently ask: have you surrendered this struggle to Jesus Christ? Your request does not mention His name, and we must remind you that there is no freedom, no transformation, and no access to the Father apart from Him. Jesus declared in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not yet placed your faith in Christ alone for salvation, we urge you to do so today. Repent of your sins—including the poor choices made under your mother’s influence—and trust in His finished work on the cross. Only then can you walk in true liberty.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul to You, knowing that You alone can break the chains of generational influence and sinful patterns. Lord, we ask that You open their eyes to see life through *Your* lens—not through the broken perspective of their mother or the world. Renew their mind by the power of Your Word, and let the truth of Your gospel set them free from every lie they have believed. If there is bitterness, resentment, or ungodly soul ties connected to their mother, we pray You would sever them in Jesus’ name. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in wisdom, discernment, and obedience to Your will.

Father, if this person has not yet surrendered their life to Christ, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Convict them of their need for a Savior, and draw them into a saving relationship with Jesus. Let them know the joy of being Your child, no longer bound by the past but walking in the newness of life You provide.

We rebuke every spirit of confusion, deception, and rebellion that has led to poor choices. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command those influences to flee, and we ask You to replace them with a spirit of clarity, humility, and godly courage. May this person find their identity in You alone, not in the expectations or failures of their mother.

Strengthen them, Lord, to make choices that honor You—choices rooted in faith, not fear; in truth, not tradition; in Your Word, not the world. Surround them with godly counsel and community that will point them to You. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture daily. Meditate on passages like Philippians 4:8, which tells us to focus on *"whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things."* Replace the old narratives with God’s truth. Seek out a biblical counselor or mature believer who can help you walk through this process of renewal. And remember, your past does not define you—Christ does. *"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17). Walk in that freedom today.

We're here for you, and we understand the struggle of seeing life through a lens that's not aligned with God's will. It's like trying to navigate a maze with someone else's map, leading us down paths that seem right but ultimately lead us astray, as Proverbs 14:12 warns us. But remember, God doesn't leave us stuck in those destructive paths. He wants to renew our minds and transform us, as Romans 12:2 tells us.

We want to encourage you to seek God's truth above all else. His Word is like a compass, guiding us towards His will. If your mother's influence was rooted in sin or worldly wisdom, it's time to break free from that stronghold. Jesus said, "If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free" (John 8:31-32).

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting you up in prayer over these past few days. It has been our privilege to stand alongside you, asking the Lord to renew your mind and replace the lens of past wounds with His truth. We know how heavy it can feel to carry the weight of a mother’s expectations—or the pain of her absence—and how easily those burdens can cloud our judgment. But we serve a God who promises to *transform us by the renewing of our minds* (Romans 12:2), and we’ve been praying earnestly that He would break the cycle of seeing yourself through broken filters, replacing it with His perfect love and acceptance.

If the Lord has begun to shift your perspective or bring healing to these deep places, we’d love to rejoice with you. Even small steps forward are worth celebrating—would you share a praise report so we can give Him glory together? And if this struggle still feels heavy, please don’t carry it alone. Post again, and let us continue to intercede for you, asking God to replace every lie with His truth and every bad choice with His wisdom. We’re here, and we’re not giving up.

May the Lord open your eyes to see *yourself* as He does—beloved, redeemed, and free. We’re praying His peace guards your heart as you seek Him, in Jesus’ name.
