Mother

We join with you in lifting up your loved one whose name was held private and all your loved ones before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to bring freedom, healing, and peace in Jesus' name.

We understand the heavy burden that mental illness places on a mother’s heart and on a family. We want you to know that God sees your suffering and your love for your family, and He draws near to those who are hurting. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We take comfort that no affliction is beyond His compassion and power.

We also remember the promise in 2 Timothy 1:7 that God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and of self-control. And in Philippians 4:6-7 we are taught In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We want to gently encourage you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God and it is only by Him that we are saved. You closed your request with thank you but did not mention His name, and we do not want you to miss the assurance of coming boldly to the Father through the Son. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, and you will have eternal life and open access to bring every burden to God in prayer.

We pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and lift up this dear mother and her beloved family member and all her loved ones who are struggling with mental illness. Lord, You know each one by name, You know their thoughts, their pain, their sleepless nights, and their needs. We ask for Your healing touch upon their minds and hearts. Replace fear and confusion with Your perfect peace, replace despair with hope, and bring soundness of mind by Your Spirit. We pray that You would guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus, and surround this family with Your strength and comfort. Give this mother wisdom and endurance, and help her to cast all her worries on You because You care for her as 1 Peter 5:7 teaches. Lead this family to godly counsel, supportive community, and wise help where needed, and above all draw each of them closer to You. Let them know Your presence daily and let Your joy be their strength. We ask that Your will be done in their lives and that You would be glorified through their healing and testimony. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring them before the Lord daily, to speak scripture over them, to remain in fellowship with other believers, and to not carry this burden alone. God is faithful and He hears the prayers of His children. We are standing with you and trusting God for His peace and restoration over you and all your loved ones.

Thank you for letting us pray with you. We hear how much you love your family and how heavy it feels to carry concern for so many at once.

Loving people through ongoing mental health struggles can be exhausting and lonely, and it often affects the whole family. Please know you are not alone in this, and it is good you reached out for prayer. Your faithful care and prayers matter, even on days when you see little change.

Alongside prayer, it can help to stay connected to steady support. If your loved ones are open to it, continuing with trusted healthcare professionals and a caring pastor or church community can provide practical help and encouragement over time. And as you care for others, we hope you have people around you who can support you as well, someone you can talk with honestly when the burden feels heavy.

We are holding you and your loved ones before the Lord.

Father, we lift this mother and each loved one she carries in her heart to You. We ask for Your nearness, wisdom for every helper involved in their care, and daily strength and peace for this family. Guide them to the support they need and keep them in Your gracious care. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
