Mother

We hear the heaviness in your heart as you share about going head to head with your mother and we lift you up together before the Lord in Jesus' name. We are thankful you called upon the high name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father and find grace and help in time of need. As it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5.

We know how painful and draining conflict with a mother can be, especially when love is deep but understanding feels far away. God places the relationship between a child and a parent in a place of great honor and purpose. He commands, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you Exodus 20:12. This is echoed in the New Testament, Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth Ephesians 6:1-3, and Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord Colossians 3:20. This does not mean every disagreement disappears, but it does call us to approach our mothers with respect, humility, and a desire for peace even when we feel hurt or misunderstood.

We encourage you to seek the Lord first for softness of heart on both sides. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger Proverbs 15:1. We have found that practicing what is written, So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger James 1:19, can change the whole tone of a difficult conversation. Take time to listen to your mother, to share your feelings honestly but gently, and to forgive quickly as God has forgiven us. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. Even if you feel you are right, choosing humility and honoring her position as your mother honors God.

We pray together for you and for your mother.

Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus and lift up this dear one and their mother to You. You see the tension and the hurt that has come between them and You know every word spoken and every tear shed. We ask You to pour out Your peace over this home and over both hearts. Soften any hardness, heal any wounds, and give wisdom beyond their own understanding. Help this child to honor their mother with words and actions that please You, and help this mother to hear with love and grace. Teach them both to be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, and to speak to each other with gentleness and truth. Remove pride and defensiveness and replace it with tenderheartedness and forgiveness. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Bring restoration and deeper love where there has been strife, that their relationship may reflect Your love and bring glory to You. We ask this in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

We encourage you to keep praying daily for your mother by name, to speak blessing over her even when it is hard, and to look for small ways to show honor and love. If possible, seek a calm moment to talk, perhaps beginning with an apology for any harsh words and an expression of love and respect. Trust that God is at work even in this difficult season to teach patience, to grow character, and to draw you both closer to Himself and to each other.

We hear how painful it is when home doesn't feel peaceful and it is your own mother you are colliding with. That head to head feeling can leave you both hurt and tired, and we are praying for you right now.

It helps to remember that disagreement itself is not failure. In families where people love each other, differences will surface. What matters is how we handle those moments so they do not do more damage. Often when we go head to head we are both trying to be heard and neither feels understood.

One small step that can help is to notice when emotions are rising and give yourselves space instead of pushing through. You might agree together that when voices get tense you will pause, take a little time to calm down, and come back to talk when you are both steadier. When you do talk, try sharing what you are feeling in a calm way and then really listening to what she is trying to say, even if you do not agree. If the pattern keeps repeating, a trusted pastor or counselor sitting with you both can help keep the conversation respectful and focused.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this dear one and their mother to You. Bring calm where there has been tension, give them both ears to hear each other and words that heal rather than wound. Give wisdom for the next conversation and draw them toward peace in Your will. Amen.

I feel like me and my mother are going head to head with each other. Please pray for me . In Jesus high name.

We pray the prayer You taught us, Luke 11:1-5, for them to know You as Father, to honor Your Name, to experience the fruit, gifts, wisdom and power of The Kingdom of God, the Daily bread we need for our heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength, relationships, intellectual needs and relationships. Release the hope and encouragement found in The Scriptures, Rom 15:4-6, so we may have joy and peace in believing, Rom 15:13. We forget none of Your benefits: Pardon of iniquity, healing of diseases, satisfying our years, and crowning our life with loving-kindness and compassion that even our youth is renewed as the eagle's, Ps 103:1-5, especially by the stripes that wounded him, by which we are healed and made complete, Isa 53:5, 1 Peter 2:21-22. We also ask and agree for, Matt 18:19, freedom from all sins, improper thinking and bodily discipline and replacement by the fruit of The Holy Spirit from love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, Gal 5:22-23, truth, humility and justice, Ps 45:1-5, as well as godliness with contentment, 1 Tim 6:6, so we may walk in the good woks You prepared for us in advance to do, Eph 2:8-10, for these ones, for ourselves, in all in their regions and ours, bring revival to us and through us to others, Matt 6:10, manifest Your presence, Matt 28:18-20, Isa 64:1-2. We thank You in advance, Mk 11:24, Heb 11:6, and with thanksgiving let our requests be made known, so that the promised peace that passes comprehension may guard our hearts and minds, Phil 4:6-7 in Christ, The Messiah, Jesus' Name, Jn 14:13-14, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

It is a painful trial when the heart is at odds with its own mother, for the bond which nature has made tender should not be made bitter by strife. We have heard your cry and we bring you before the Lord in prayer.

Know this first, that there is forgiveness with God. The Scripture saith, There is forgiveness with Thee, that Thou mayest be feared. It is not a forgiveness for this sin or for that alone, but a full and complete forgiveness, and it is to be found with God through Jesus Christ His Son. He not only forgave at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive, for the act of forgiveness is a continuous one. If you have felt hardness of heart or sinfulness in this contention, come to Him who says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. Whatever your past may have been, there is forgiveness, and it is present now, at this moment, for all who repent and believe.

And as you have received such divine and eternal forgiveness, you are called to copy the pattern set before you. Even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Forgiveness among the people of God is to be a joint stock business of mutual forgiveness, and members of households should take large shares in it. Some of us have had so much manifest forgiveness from the Lord that for us to forgive ought to be as natural as to open our hands.

Many who now hear were consecrated to God by a beloved mother, and taught to love the Scriptures at a father's knee. Honour that holy tie. The Lord commands thee to honour thy mother, and He blesses the humble and gentle spirit. Seek not to win the conflict with sharp words, but to win thy mother with love, patience and forgiveness. This is the most glorious of victories, to overcome evil with good, with no weapons but love.

Go to the Lord first with a penitent heart and desire His forgiveness, then go to thy mother in meekness. Speak softly, confess where thou hast been hasty or harsh, and be ready also to forgive as thou hast been forgiven. Let not the sun go down upon this wrath, but seek peace quickly.

We pray for you now. O Father, Thou with whom there is forgiveness, look upon this child who is grieved by strife with his mother. Grant repentance where it is needed and grace to forgive where it is needed. Take away the hard heart and give a tender one. Let the blood of Jesus Christ, which secures full and eternal forgiveness, speak peace to this troubled conscience. Teach both mother and child to bear with one another and to forgive one another, even as Thou for Christ's sake hast forgiven us. Restore love in that home, and let patience and kindness rule their speech. Keep them from pride and anger, and knit their hearts together again in holy affection. This we ask in the high name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom alone is salvation and peace. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your request about the constant conflict with your mother and we are praying for you in the name of Jesus.

God calls us to honor our father and mother, and He knows how painful it is when that relationship feels like a battle. Scripture teaches that every conflict often has its root in love for the things of this life, whether it is wanting our own way, pride, or vainglory. When we learn to seek peace and to value the treasure we have in heaven more than winning an argument, many conflicts lose their power.

You are encouraged not to rush into strife but to step back from it where you can, waiting with humility and nobleness of spirit. This does not mean avoiding what is right, but it means not chasing after quarrels and showing freedom from pride. When we are dragged into difficult moments, God calls us to stand with grace and truth, and when we are not, to be quiet and keep peace as far as it depends on us.

The Lord also uses seasons of struggle to refine us and to help us grow. Even when trials feel heavy and close together, He is near and He uses them to make us more like Christ and to bring us closer to Himself.

We are praying for you and for your mother, that God would soften both hearts, give you words that are gentle and truthful, and bring reconciliation. May He give you wisdom to listen well, patience to respond without anger, and humility to seek forgiveness where needed.

Father in heaven, we lift up this daughter and her mother to You. You see their hurt and their conflict. Grant them peace in their home, help them to honor one another, and teach them to despise pride and to love what You love. Give them a spirit of repentance, forgiveness, and understanding. Restore their relationship and let Your love rule in their hearts. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior, amen.
