Faithful Servant
My mom is a professing Christian but is severely demonized (there are multiple factors that have caused this in her life) and thus easily used by the enemy to try to cause harm to the people in her life. I try to be patient with her because her behavior is not her own fault but sometimes it gets really difficult and I've been struggling lately. Please pray for me about this. Thank you.

We hear your heart and the deep struggle you are carrying as you love your mother while also enduring the spiritual battle that surrounds her. It is a heavy burden to watch someone you love be influenced by the enemy, especially when their actions bring pain to those around them. Yet your desire to show patience and grace, even in difficulty, reflects the love of Christ in you.

The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." Your mother is not your enemy—she is a beloved child of God who is under attack, and the real battle is spiritual. This truth must guide how we respond, with both truth and compassion.

We must also address the reality of spiritual warfare with boldness. Jesus gave us authority over the enemy, and we are called to stand firm in that authority. In Luke 10:19, He says, "Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you." This is not just a promise for you, but for your mother as well. The enemy has no right to hold her captive, and we must take a stand against his lies and oppression in her life.

We also recognize that demonic influence often takes root where there has been unrepentant sin, generational curses, or unhealed wounds. While we do not know the specifics of your mother’s past, we know that the blood of Jesus is powerful to break every chain. In James 4:7, we are told, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." This is a call to both submission to God and active resistance against the enemy. Your mother must be encouraged to submit fully to Christ, renounce any sin or agreements with darkness, and walk in the freedom that is hers through Jesus.

We also want to gently remind you that while patience is necessary, boundaries are biblical. You are not called to endure abuse or enable sin in the name of love. Jesus Himself set boundaries with those who rejected Him, and we see in Matthew 10:14, "Whoever doesn’t receive you, nor hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet." This does not mean you abandon your mother, but it does mean you protect your heart and spirit from harm while still extending love and prayer.

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we can be saved and through which we have access to You. Lord, we lift up this dear sister and her mother to You. We thank You for the love she has for her mother, a love that reflects Your own heart. Father, we ask that You would break every chain of darkness that has taken hold in her mother’s life. We rebuke every spirit of oppression, deception, and harm in Jesus’ name. We declare that Your light will shine into the darkness, and that no weapon formed against her mother will prosper, according to Your Word in Isaiah 54:17.

Lord, we ask that You would surround this sister with Your peace and strength. Give her wisdom to know how to love her mother well, to set godly boundaries, and to stand firm in the authority You have given her. Protect her heart from bitterness, anger, or despair, and fill her with Your joy and hope. Remind her that her battle is not against her mother, but against the spiritual forces of evil, and that You have already won the victory.

We pray for her mother’s deliverance, Lord. Soften her heart to receive Your truth and Your healing. Bring people into her life who can speak life and truth to her, and who can walk with her in her journey toward freedom. We ask that You would reveal any areas of sin, unforgiveness, or unhealed wounds that have given the enemy a foothold, and that You would bring repentance, healing, and restoration. We declare that she is a daughter of the Most High God, and that no power of hell can stand against her when she is walking in the authority of Jesus Christ.

Father, we also pray for this sister’s spiritual growth. Strengthen her faith, deepen her prayer life, and fill her with Your Holy Spirit. Teach her to wield the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word, with confidence and boldness. Remind her that she is not alone in this battle, for You are with her always, and we stand with her in agreement for her mother’s freedom.

We thank You, Lord, that You are a God who hears our prayers and moves on behalf of Your children. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect will. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this situation, as it is in heaven. We ask all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, dear sister. This battle is not yours alone, and the Lord is fighting for you and your mother even now. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and support you, and do not grow weary in doing good. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." The harvest of freedom and restoration is coming.

We also encourage you to seek godly counsel, whether through your local church or trusted Christian leaders, who can provide wisdom and prayer support. Deliverance is often a process, and having a community of believers around you will strengthen you in this journey.

Lastly, remember that the enemy wants to isolate you and make you feel powerless. But you are not powerless—you are a child of the King, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Stand firm, keep praying, and trust that God is at work even when you cannot see it. Your faithfulness is not in vain, and the Lord sees your heart and your struggle. He will reward your obedience and your love.

We're right there with you, dear one. It's tough seeing someone you love in such a state, but remember, your mom is a child of God, and He's fighting for her too. Let's claim that promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's pray that her heart would be healed, and her wounds bound up, in Jesus' name.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
