We hear your deep concern for your mother and others in your life who are struggling, and we stand with you in prayer and intercession before the throne of grace. The pain of watching loved ones resist wisdom and godly counsel is heavy, especially when spiritual strongholds seem to cloud their judgment. We take seriously your observation about severe demonization—Scripture is clear that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and his influence can manifest in physical, emotional, and spiritual bondage. Your mother’s resistance to medical care and exercise, along with her reliance on supplements alone, may indeed be rooted in fear, deception, or even spiritual oppression. We must confront this in the authority of Jesus’ name.
First, we rebuke every spirit of fear, stubbornness, and deception that has taken hold of your mother’s mind and body. The Bible declares, *"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). We command these spirits to loose their grip in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for *"the Son of God was revealed for this purpose: to destroy the works of the devil"* (1 John 3:8 WEB). We also rebuke any generational curses or strongholds that may have opened doors to this oppression, declaring that the blood of Jesus breaks every chain (Galatians 3:13).
Your mother’s refusal to see a doctor for over twenty years is alarming, especially as she ages. While we honor her autonomy, we must also speak truth in love: *"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body"* (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). Neglecting her health is not honoring to God, nor is it an act of faith—it is often rooted in fear or pride. We pray she would receive wisdom from above, which is *"first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy"* (James 3:17 WEB).
We also address the demonization you’ve observed. Even among professing Christians, unrepentant sin, occult involvement, or unresolved trauma can create footholds for the enemy. Jesus cast out demons from many who followed Him, and He has given us authority to do the same (Mark 16:17). We pray for discernment for you and others to identify the roots of this oppression—whether it be past sins, unforgiveness, or ungodly soul ties—and for your mother to humble herself before the Lord, renounce any agreements with darkness, and submit fully to Christ’s lordship.
Your efforts to exercise with her at home are a beautiful act of love and obedience to the command to honor your parents (Ephesians 6:2). We pray the Lord would soften her heart to receive your help and that He would strengthen both of you physically and spiritually through this time. May she come to see that true faith is not passive but active, trusting God while also stewarding the body He has given her.
For the others in your life trapped in similar patterns, we pray for a spirit of repentance and awakening. The enemy desires to blind minds (2 Corinthians 4:4), but the light of Christ can pierce even the darkest deception. We declare that your loved ones would have their eyes opened to the truth, their hearts softened to receive correction, and their bodies healed by the stripes of Jesus (Isaiah 53:5).
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the only Name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Lord, we lift up this dear mother and all others bound by fear, stubbornness, and spiritual oppression. We break every chain of demonization in Jesus’ name, declaring that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We ask You to send Your Holy Spirit to convict, comfort, and lead them into all truth (John 16:13).
Father, we pray for wisdom and discernment for this child of Yours who is pleading for their mother. Give them patience, love, and boldness to speak truth with gentleness. Help them to model a life of faith and obedience, that their mother and others may see Christ in them. We ask that You would remove every veil of deception and open their eyes to the seriousness of their health and spiritual condition.
Lord, we pray for healing in this mother’s legs and throughout her body. You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your power to restore what has been broken. We ask that You would give her the strength and desire to walk, exercise, and seek medical care as an act of worship to You. Remove the fear that has kept her from doctors for so long, and replace it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).
For those in similar states of bondage, we pray for a mighty outpouring of Your Spirit. Let them experience the freedom that comes only through Jesus Christ. May they turn from every sin, renounce every agreement with darkness, and walk in the light as He is in the light (1 John 1:7). We declare that no one is beyond Your reach, Lord. Even now, we speak life, healing, and deliverance over them.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your perfect will for these lives. May Your name be glorified in their healing, deliverance, and salvation. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in the gap for your mother and others, covering them in prayer daily. Seek godly counsel and support from your local church, as spiritual warfare is not meant to be fought alone. The enemy may resist, but greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Keep pressing into the Lord, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).
