Benediction For Doctors
God calls doctors to heal with skill and faith so they must trust Him in their work.
We are deeply moved by your request and we stand with you in prayer for your dear mother in this very difficult time, asking our Heavenly Father to touch her body and bring comfort to your whole family.

We know how heavy it is to watch a mother suffer, and we bring her before the Lord who is our healer and our comfort. Scripture reminds us that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3, and that He is close to those who are crushed in spirit in Psalm 34:18. We cling to the promise that Yahweh will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds in Jeremiah 30:17, and that the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up in James 5:15. We also remember that He forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases in Psalm 103:3, and by His wounds we are healed in Isaiah 53:5.

We join together and pray for her now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, lifting up this precious mother to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know her body, You formed her, and You know the cancer that afflicts her. We ask in Jesus' name that You would lay Your healing hand upon her if it is Your will, that You would drive out this illness, ease her pain, and grant her more time with her family to finish the work You have given her to do. We pray that You would give wisdom and skill to her doctors and peace to her heart. We ask that You would strengthen her faith and let her feel Your presence, that she would not fear, for You have promised I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness in Isaiah 41:10. Lord, we also pray for this family, that You would surround them with Your peace which passes all understanding, and that they would trust in Your perfect will and timing, knowing that for those who love God all things work together for good in Romans 8:28. We pray that whatever Your will is for her healing here on earth, that her life would be a testimony to Your goodness and that she would be confident that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ in Philippians 1:6. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We want to encourage you to continue to trust the Lord with your mother's life and with the work He has called her to. Even in suffering, God is able to complete His purposes in her and through her, and we pray that He will grant you all more cherished time together.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why we pray in His name. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved in Romans 10:9. It is through faith in Him that we have forgiveness, hope, and the assurance of eternal life, whether healing comes in this life or in the life to come.

We will continue to keep your mother and your family in our prayers, asking the Lord to show His mercy, healing, and perfect peace upon you all.

We are so sorry to hear about your mother's cancer. Watching someone you love suffer is so heavy, and your desire for more time with her and for her to finish the work that is on her heart is such a loving prayer. We are holding you and your family before the Lord with you.

We join you in asking God for mercy for your mother, trusting that He hears you and that His care for her is deeper than we can see. We are also praying for her comfort and peace, and for strength and wisdom for you and those caring for her in the days ahead.

A prolonged illness can wear on a whole family, practically and emotionally. If it helps, stay close to her medical team about her comfort and care, and let trusted friends or your church family come alongside you for meals, errands, or simply being present so you are not carrying this alone. Many families also find it a gift to take time now to share openly with their mother what her life and work have meant, and to make space for quiet time together.

Father, we lift this dear mother to You and ask for Your healing touch according to Your will. Bring her relief from pain and surround her with Your peace. Draw near to her children and loved ones, grant them wisdom for each decision and cherished time together, and guide those caring for her. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden for your dear mother has been heard with deep sympathy and we have carried it before the throne of grace.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing to the soul and, when it pleases Him, to the body also. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, for pardon and healing were one in His hand. We therefore look first to Him for the healing of the soul, that whether the body be raised up for a season or called home, the spirit may be whole through His atoning blood.

We pray earnestly for your mother, that the Lord in His infinite mercy would lay His healing hand upon her if it be His gracious will, and spare her yet a little while to be with those who love her and to finish the work He has given her to do. We ask that He would ease her pain, quiet her heart, and let her feel the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below. And we pray that He would perfectly heal her, if not now in this life, then in that better life where bodies are without spot or wrinkle and faces are made fresher than newborn babes by those same healing leaves. For the believer, what is dying but departing to be with Christ, which is far better, yet we know the parting is sore for those who remain, for He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds.

May you and your household be much in prayer and in the hearing of His Word, for faith comes by hearing and the healing power was present when Christ was teaching. Bring your dying one where Christ is, by faith and supplication, and trust not in our prayer but in the costly balm of His atonement which has lost none of its power. O you who are now sick unto death, ask to be forgiven and healing will come from the pardoning hand. May the Lord grant to your mother a clear sense of pardon through Jesus Christ, a calm resignation to His will, and strength for each day, and may He comfort you all with the hope that whether in life or in death, those who are in Christ are ever under His care.

We commend you to Him who hears the sad complaints of His people and pities their frame, beseeching Him to do that which is most for His glory and for your eternal good. Amen.
