Most churches in my country is only concern about tithes and offering only

Good and Faithful Servant
Most churches in my country are only concern about tithes and offering only and instead of spreading love and hope during times of hardship, what do they promote. Give more tithes and offering to the church, so that God will bless you more. If you don't tithe and offering. You are robbing from God and God will punish you by removing you from your job and bring misfortune to your family and household, even you do not have enough or out of job you must give the 10% or more than 10% otherwise you are robbing from God. It is like an obligatory and not free will donation.

We hear the deep pain and frustration in your words, and our hearts ache with you over the distortion of God’s truth being used to manipulate and burden His people. The love of money is indeed a root of all kinds of evil, and when the church prioritizes financial gain over the gospel of grace, it grieves the Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul warned Timothy about those who would teach false doctrines for dishonest gain, saying, "If anyone teaches a different doctrine, and doesn’t consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness, he is conceited, knowing nothing, but obsessed with arguments, disputes, and word battles, from which come envy, strife, insulting, evil suspicions, constant friction of people corrupted in mind and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. Withdraw yourself from such" (1 Timothy 6:3-5 WEB).

Tithing is a biblical principle, but it was never meant to be a tool for manipulation or a guarantee of material blessing. The Old Testament tithe was part of the Mosaic Law, given to support the Levites and the poor, and to acknowledge God’s provision. In the New Testament, we are called to give cheerfully, not under compulsion: "Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7 WEB). The emphasis is on the heart, not the amount. Jesus Himself warned against those who "devour widows’ houses" under the pretense of piety (Mark 12:40 WEB). If a church is using fear or guilt to extract money from those who are struggling, it is not operating in the love and truth of Christ.

We must also address the deeper issue here: where is the gospel of Jesus Christ in these teachings? The church’s primary mission is to proclaim salvation through faith in Him, not to burden people with legalistic demands. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:28-30 WEB). If the message you are hearing is one of fear, obligation, and works-based righteousness, it is not the true gospel. The apostle Paul wrote, "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different gospel, which is not another gospel, except there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you any gospel other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed" (Galatians 1:6-8 WEB).

We rebuke in the name of Jesus any spirit of greed, manipulation, or legalism that has infiltrated the church in your country. We declare that the love of Christ, not the love of money, must be the foundation of His body. We pray that God would expose and remove false teachers who exploit His people, and that He would raise up shepherds after His own heart, those who feed the flock with truth, love, and grace.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieving over the distortion of Your Word and the exploitation of Your people. Lord, we ask that You would open the eyes of those who have been deceived by false teachings and reveal the truth of Your grace. We pray for the pastors and leaders in this nation, raise up men and women who will shepherd Your flock with integrity, humility, and a passion for the gospel. Break the spirit of greed and manipulation that has taken hold in some churches, and replace it with a spirit of generosity, love, and true worship.

Father, we ask that You would provide for those who are struggling financially, especially those who have been guilted or pressured into giving beyond their means. Remind them that You are their Provider, and that Your love is not contingent on their giving. Heal the wounds caused by legalism and fear, and replace them with the peace that comes from knowing You. Help Your people to give cheerfully and freely, not out of obligation, but out of a heart that overflows with gratitude for Your goodness.

Lord, we also pray for revival in the church. Let Your people return to the simplicity of the gospel, salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. May the church in this nation be a beacon of hope, love, and truth, shining brightly in a world that desperately needs You. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

To those reading this, we encourage you to seek out a church that preaches the true gospel, a gospel of grace, not guilt; a gospel of love, not legalism. If you are unsure where to turn, ask God to lead you to a community of believers who will point you to Christ, not to their own interests. Remember, "You will know them by their fruits" (Matthew 7:16 WEB). A church that truly follows Jesus will bear the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB).

If you have never placed your faith in Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider His sacrifice on the cross for your sins. The Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). Salvation is a free gift, received by faith alone in Christ alone. If you would like to know more about how to have a personal relationship with Jesus, we invite you to seek Him with all your heart. He is waiting to welcome you with open arms.

We hear the weariness and the grief in what you've shared. It's exhausting to sit under teaching that turns God's invitation into a threat, and it's deeply lonely to long for love and hope from the church and receive pressure and fear instead. That kind of demand, especially when you're already struggling to make ends meet, is not the heart of God. It's the very kind of manipulation the term _spiritual abuse_ describes: using guilt and religious words to control people for someone else's gain, while damaging their walk with God.

Your longing for a community that spreads love and hope in hardship shows a genuine, healthy instinct. That's what Christ's body is meant to be. What you've described seeing is a distortion, and we're sorry you've been subjected to it. God does not sit waiting to punish a family struggling to buy groceries for not giving 10 percent. His generosity toward us is free, and our giving was always meant to be a cheerful response, not an anxious transaction.

A modest, grounded step you might consider: as you're able, quietly look for a fellowship, maybe even a small group or online gathering for now, where the gospel is actually good news, not a weighted scale, and where leaders exhibit gentleness rather than pressure. You don't need to rush, and you're allowed to be cautious. Your soul deserves a place where it can rest and heal, not be squeezed for what little you have.

Jesus, you see the hurt this writer carries from those who claimed to speak for you but instead laid heavy burdens on the weary. Bring them across the path of kind, honest believers who will restore some of that trust. Keep their heart soft toward you even when the institution has wounded them, and give them wisdom to discern where true care and hope are found. Shelter them and their household from every fear pressed upon them by false obligation. In your name we pray, amen.

It is a grievous wound to hear of such traffic in sacred things, where the house of prayer is turned into a den of extortioners. This merchandising of the Gospel is a stench in the nostrils of the Most High. When men make merchandise of souls, binding heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders while they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers, know of a surety that this is not the ministry of free grace, but the yoke of bondage.

The true Gospel heralds not a demand for silver and gold as the price of blessing, but the unsearchable riches of Christ given freely. By the Grace of God we stand, and not by our own meritorious offerings. The love of the Father, which gave His Son for our redemption, is the fountain of all consolation. That we are what we are is the work of Divine Grace, and our hope is built not on the tottering foundation of our own doings, but on the everlasting Covenant sealed by the blood of the Lamb. The man who thunders forth a curse upon the poor, demanding a tenth of their penury as the condition of escaping calamity, speaks a language foreign to the Cross of Calvary. At the foot of that Cross, the ground is level: the rich may bring their abundance, the poor may cast in two mites, and both are accepted only as they are in Christ, out of a willing heart stirred by gratitude.

Let your soul take refuge in the everlasting consolation and good hope through Grace which is the portion of all who believe. The Lord has loved His people with an ancient love, and nothing can separate them from it, not the lack of a full purse, nor the reproach of false shepherds. What saith the Scripture? "Freely ye have received, freely give." The motive for true giving springs from the love of Christ constraining us, not from the terror of a tyrant's threat. When Grace reigns, abounding sin is conquered, hope begins, and good becomes perceptible. But where legal demands are piled upon the consciences of men, there is no hope, and yet, astonishingly, men cling to the vain hope that by such payments they can win favour with God. That hope is a spider's web that shall perish when the floods lift up their waves.

Look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of faith. He sat not with a ledger, demanding a price, but opened wide His arms upon the tree, crying, "It is finished." That finished work is the sole price of your peace. If you have trusted in Him, you are preserved by Grace, and whatever blessings flow into your life are tokens of His Fatherly love, not wages earned by your contributions. Beware of those who would rob you of the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free, and attempt to put a yoke upon your neck that neither we nor our fathers were able to bear. The Holy Spirit does not bless such falsehoods; He is vexed when the holiest things are made a pretence for gain. But where the simple Gospel is lifted up, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved", there the poor hear the glad tidings, and their hearts are comforted and established in every good word and work.

Let the Church be the world's hope by exhibiting a people whose hope is in Divine Grace alone, whose consolation is everlasting because it is seated in the eternal purpose of love, and whose giving is a sweet savour of thankful love, not a forced tribute born of fear. Pray that the Lord would purify His Zion, removing the false traffickers, and restoring the simplicity of the Good News. And for yourself, rest quietly beneath the shadow of the Almighty. You shall find that He is indeed a Throne of Grace, and His scepter is that of love. May you be enabled to rejoice in that love which surpasses knowledge, and to prove that by the Grace of God you are what you are, a child of hope, not of bondage.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Such teaching is a poison disguised as piety, and it rightly grieves your soul. When men stand in the pulpit and declare that God will curse your household, strip you of work, and bring misfortune unless you pay them a tenth, they pervert the Law into an instrument of extortion. They act like the tax collectors who take by force, not like ministers of the Gospel. The Apostle himself says, "By the Law is the knowledge of sin." If the Law is preached without grace, it only parades forth your sins and crushes you with a burden you cannot bear. Those who demand payment under threat of divine vengeance are not spreading hope; they are forging chains. They peddle wrath when they should proclaim remission. For where grace is, there is a remitting, and where remitting is, there is no punishment. Faith comes, drawing on grace, so that the promise comes into effect, and you are made an heir, not a slave trembling before a taskmaster.

Yet do not let the greed of false shepherds drive you to despise the act of giving itself, which is a grace ministered among the saints. True giving is not extorted by terror but poured out from a willing heart, a readiness that brings glory to the Lord. When you give freely, out of love for Christ and His body, it becomes a sweet fragrance, a partnership in the Gospel. But these men have turned a cure into a wound. They count your coins but neglect your soul. They have forgotten that one who grows rich by pressing the poor, even under a religious cloak, is receiving his good things now and storing up a treasure of wrath for himself. Do not envy their prosperity, nor let their threats shake you. Groan for them instead, for their shamelessness shows they fear neither hell nor the judgment seat of Christ. The punishment of such audacity, if unrepented, is not a fable. It is long, and it is sore.

What then should you do? Let your own giving be between you and the God who sees in secret, measured by your ability and cheerful willingness, not by the lash of a man's tongue. If you have nothing to give because you yourself are in want, God does not demand what you do not have. He looks not at the amount but at the readiness. And as for the threats these men hurl at you, remember that sins are not judged by the length of time it takes to commit them, but by their nature. Their sin of twisting God's word to fleece the sheep will require a bitter accounting. Take courage in this: those who suffer here for righteousness have their warning, but those who prosper in such wickedness are fattened for a more fearful vengeance. Keep yourself from their audacity. Pierce your own heart with the fear of God, not the fear of man. Let that holy fear brace up your soul, elevate your mind, and cast out the sins that so easily beset you. The threat of hell should be a delight to your ears only because it drives you toward repentance, not despair. Flee from these wolves into the arms of grace, and you will find the Lord Jesus Christ to be mild, not an extortioner. He demands only when the soil bears fruit, and even then, He receives it as love, not as tribute paid to avoid prison. The Gospel is good news of great joy, not a transaction of terror. Hold fast to that joy, and let no false teacher steal it from you.

I hear the weight behind your words. What you have encountered is not the heartbeat of Scripture but a tragic misuse of it. The demand for money under threat of God’s curse turns the gospel of grace into a transaction, and it leaves people fearful rather than free. The Lord never intended His church to operate like that.

When the apostle Paul organized a collection for the impoverished believers in Jerusalem, he explicitly instructed that giving must never come from pressure or compulsion. He wrote, “God loves a cheerful giver.” Not a resentful one. Not a terrified one. The early churches in Macedonia, though they were in deep poverty themselves, gave with overflowing generosity, not because anyone threatened them, but because they first gave themselves to the Lord. Their offering was a response to love, not a bribe to avoid disaster.

The fear of God that Scripture commends is not the dread of Him hurting us. It is a profound reverence, born out of gratitude, that makes us say, “I don’t want to hurt the One who loves me.” That is a world away from being told that God will strip you of your job or bring calamity on your family if you do not hand over a percentage. Such teaching manipulates the conscience and distorts the Father’s character. In Christ, there is no condemnation for those who trust Him, and your security does not depend on a financial formula.

Yes, the early church took special care to handle money with integrity, keeping records open to all, ensuring that no charlatan exploited the flock. And when a man named Diotrephes loved to have preeminence and threw people out for not bowing to his wishes, his sin was exposed. Spiritual authority is meant to serve, not to coerce.

Your giving is a personal matter between you and God. If you have nothing to give because you have lost your job, He knows. He does not demand from the empty hand. The pattern we see in Acts and the letters is that believers laid aside as they were prospered, according to what was on their heart. Not a set extraction, but a willing sacrifice that meets genuine need.

So please, let your heart breathe again. The gospel is not an exchange where you buy God’s blessing. It is the story of Him giving everything for you while you were still far off. Any leader who stands in His place and threatens you for gain is standing on the wrong side of the cross. Seek out a fellowship where love is tangible and books are open, but also forgive those who have wounded you. They too are trapped in a system that has forgotten its first love.

Rest in this: the Lord sees your heart, and He is far more interested in your trust than your tithe. Let any future giving spring from that trust, cheerfully, freely, and never out of constraint. That is the kind of offering that turns into thanksgiving by many to God.

We want to thank you for sharing your heart with us and allowing us to stand with you in prayer during this difficult time. It is deeply troubling to hear how the message of God’s love and grace has been distorted in your country, turning what should be a joyful act of worship into a burden of fear and obligation. We have lifted this concern before the Lord, asking Him to soften the hearts of church leaders so they may return to the true Gospel—one that proclaims freedom, compassion, and the unconditional love of Christ, not guilt or legalism.

We have prayed specifically that the Holy Spirit would move powerfully in your nation, raising up shepherds after God’s own heart who will feed His flock with truth, comfort the brokenhearted, and point the lost to Jesus—not to financial demands. We asked the Lord to protect your faith from discouragement and to remind you that your worth is not measured by what you give, but by what Christ has already given for you. We also prayed for those who are struggling financially, that they would find provision and peace in God’s promises, not in man-made requirements.

If the Lord has already begun to answer these prayers—perhaps by opening your eyes to a church that reflects His heart, or by giving you peace in your own giving—we would love to hear your praise report. If, however, you still feel the weight of this burden, please share it again so we can continue to intercede on your behalf. May the Father strengthen you with His truth, fill you with His hope, and remind you that you are deeply loved, not because of what you give, but because of who He is.

We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
