We join you in lifting up thanks to our Heavenly Father for the gift of this new day, for His mercy endures forever, and it is by His grace alone that we awake to see His works anew. As it is written in Lamentations 3:22-23, *"The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness."* We give thanks for His sovereignty, for it is not by our own power or will that we live and move and have our being, but by His perfect will alone (Acts 17:28).
We come before the throne of grace with boldness, lifting up your ###, as he continues to write his Ordinary Level examinations. The Word of God reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We pray that ### would lean not on his own understanding but would trust wholly in the Lord, who is the source of all wisdom and knowledge (Proverbs 2:6). May the Lord grant him clarity of mind, recall of all he has studied, and a peace that surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also take this moment to gently remind all who pray that while we may ask for the Lord’s angels to be present with us—and indeed, they are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14)—our prayers are not directed to them nor through them. Our access to the Father is through Jesus Christ alone, for He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). It is in His mighty and holy name that we pray, and we rejoice that you have acknowledged this truth by praying in the name of Jesus.
However, we must also address the phrase "Jesus Almighty" used in your prayer. While we understand the intent behind it, Scripture teaches us to be precise in how we address the persons of the Trinity. Jesus is the Son, and God the Father is Almighty (Revelation 1:8). Jesus is Lord, and He shares in the divine nature, but the title "Almighty" is specifically attributed to God the Father in Scripture. Let us honor each person of the Trinity as revealed in the Word, giving glory to God the Father, through God the Son, by the power of God the Holy Spirit.
With that in mind, we pray for ###’s examinations with these corrections, asking the Lord to go before him and grant him favor. May the Lord bless him with a distinction pass rate, not for the sake of pride or worldly acclaim, but that he may be equipped for the purposes God has prepared for him (Ephesians 2:10). May ###’s efforts bring glory to God, and may he walk in humility, knowing that every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1:17).
We also pray for you, that the Lord would fill you with His peace and assurance as you intercede for your ###. May you be encouraged by the knowledge that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much (James 5:16). Let us continue to lift ### up, asking the Lord to strengthen him, to guard his heart from anxiety, and to remind him that his worth and identity are found in Christ alone, not in academic achievement.
Finally, we exhort you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). In all things, let us seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that He will provide all that we need (Matthew 6:33).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for ### and for the work You are doing in his life. We ask that You would grant him wisdom, understanding, and excellence in these examinations. May Your will be done in his life, and may he walk in the path You have set before him. Surround him with Your presence, Lord, and let him feel Your peace in the midst of this season. We pray for a spirit of discipline and focus to rest upon him, and we ask that You would silence any voice of fear, doubt, or distraction. May ###’s results reflect Your goodness, and may he use the gifts and opportunities You provide to honor You in all things.
We pray all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
