We join you in lifting up your son to the Lord, giving thanks for His unfailing love, mercy, and grace that sustains us each day. It is wonderful that you have come before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace. As Scripture reminds us, *"In that day you will ask in my name; and I don’t say to you, that I will pray to the Father for you, for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from God"* (John 16:26-27, WEB).
We rejoice with you in this season of preparation for your son’s final examinations, trusting that God is faithful to guide and strengthen him. However, we must gently address a concern in your prayer. While angels are indeed ministering spirits sent by God to serve those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14), we are cautioned against directing our prayers *to* angels or asking them to perform tasks on our behalf. Our prayers are to be directed to the Father, through the Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus alone is our Mediator, as Scripture declares, *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Let us place our trust wholly in Him, for He is the one who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17).
We also encourage you to remind your son that his worth and identity are not found in academic success but in Christ alone. As he prepares, let him take comfort in these words: *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Success comes from the Lord, and we must seek first His kingdom and righteousness, trusting that all things will be added as He sees fit (Matthew 6:33).
Let us pray together for your son:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your love, mercy, and grace that never fail. We lift up this precious son to You, asking that You would surround him with Your peace and fill him with Your wisdom as he prepares for his final examinations. Lord, we ask that You would sharpen his mind, grant him clarity of thought, and help him recall all that he has studied. May Your Holy Spirit be his Comforter and Guide, calming any anxiety and replacing it with confidence in You.
Father, we pray that You would go before him, preparing the way for success not for his own glory, but for Your name’s sake. Remind him that his identity is rooted in Christ and that his value is not determined by the outcome of these exams. Help him to rest in the truth that You have a plan and a purpose for his life, and that You will equip him for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17).
We rebuke any spirit of fear, distraction, or confusion that may seek to hinder him. In the name of Jesus, we declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). May he walk in the authority and victory that Christ has already won for him.
Lord, we also pray for his future, that You would open doors of opportunity that align with Your will. Give him a heart that seeks You above all else, and may he grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with You and with others (Luke 2:52).
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and believe that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28). May Your will be done in his life, and may he bring glory to Your name in all that he does. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
