We understand that you're hurting and that this situation is causing you distress. It's important to remember that our responses should be guided by biblical principles, including forgiveness, love, and humility. As it is written in Ephesians 4:32, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
While it's natural to feel upset when someone takes advantage of us and speaks negatively, we must remember that our responses should reflect the heart of Christ. Romans 12:17-21 teaches us, Don't repay evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Therefore if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head. Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Disassociating from someone should be a last resort, especially when it's based on social status. James 2:1-4 warns us, My brothers, don't hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory with partiality. For if a man with a gold ring, in fine clothing, comes into your synagogue, and a poor man in filthy clothing also comes in; and you pay special attention to him who wears the fine clothing, and say, Sit here in a good place; and you tell the poor man, Stand there, or sit by my footstool; haven't you shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
Let's pray together:
Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother who is facing this difficult situation. We pray that you will heal his heart, give him wisdom and discernment in dealing with this person, and help him to respond in a way that honors you. We ask for grace to forgive, strength to love, and courage to act in humility. We also pray for the person who has caused this hurt, that you would soften their heart and bring conviction and repentance. We ask all this in Jesus' name.
Lastly, we must address that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Acts 4:12, Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
