We rejoice with you in this beautiful desire to spend more and more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ, for this is the very heart of what we are created for, to know Him and to abide in Him. We join you in lifting this request to our Heavenly Father, and we praise God that you have asked this in the Name of Jesus Christ, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father and fellowship with Him.
The Scripture tells us in James 4:8, Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. And in Jeremiah 29:13, You will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. Your hunger for His presence is evidence that He is already drawing you, and He delights to answer this prayer. Jesus Himself said in John 15:4, Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. This remaining is cultivated in quiet, intentional time with Him.
We also think of the psalmist who prayed in Psalm 27:4, One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after, that I may dwell in Yahweh's house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh's beauty, and to inquire in his temple. And we are reminded in Psalm 46:10, Be still, and know that I am God. Quality time with Jesus is not rushed or distracted, but still, focused, and full of love for Him through His Word and prayer. Jesus promises in Matthew 6:33, But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. As we put Him first, He orders the rest of our days.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our dear brother or sister to You. We thank You for placing this holy desire in their heart to spend more quality time with You. Father, we ask that You help them by Your Holy Spirit to draw near to You daily, to make room in their schedule and in their heart for You, and to protect that time from distraction and weariness. Teach them to be still before You, to hear Your voice through Your Word, and to commune with You in prayer with joy and sincerity. Deepen their love for Jesus, let them behold His beauty, and let their fellowship with Him grow richer and more intimate each day. Help them to remain in Christ, to walk closely with Him, and to bear much fruit for Your glory. Fill them with a fresh hunger and discipline to seek You with all their heart, and let them find You anew each time they seek. We ask this in the precious Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to set apart a specific time and a quiet place each day to meet with the Lord, to open the Scriptures with prayer, to speak to Him honestly and to listen for Him. Even a few verses meditated upon with a sincere heart is more precious than much reading done in haste. As you are faithful in little, the Lord will increase your desire and your joy in Him. He is faithful to meet with those who seek Him.

It is a gracious desire which the Lord Himself has put into your heart, and we do rejoice to join you in prayer for it. Our Lord Jesus still says to His people as He said to those weary fishermen by the sea, Come and break your fast. He is thoughtful of your wants and He spreads a table for you, not only with bread that perishes but with Himself, the true food of the soul. Many a battle has been lost because soldiers were not in good condition for the fight, and you need stamina if you are to do hard and long work for Jesus and His truth. It is important that you should have a meal with Jesus at once, and day by day.
We fear that most of us are so little in retirement, so seldom in communion with God in private, and even when there for so short a time, that we remain as dwarfs and never attain to the stature of a perfect man in Christ Jesus. If your memory is weak or your days are crowded, there is the more reason why you should be longer and more often with your God in secret. All need this, but those who feel their need most need it more. See to it that you neglect not this duty. Oh, what holy affections, what blessed excitements those have who are much alone with Christ. Such a man never has a cold heart or a slack hand who is much in meditation with his Lord Jesus.
Do not be content with an outward and mechanical religion, to be near the crowd and yet never to touch Him. There is a mysterious contact, a real inward touching of the blessed Person of Christ, where life and love flow from Him to you. Deep waters are still, and the nearest fellowship is often quiet and hidden. Come to Jesus as you came at the first, as a sinner needing His grace, and come again and again. Bring to Him your hard questions, your daily burdens and your special loads. Prove Him with the harder things, for there is no question too hard for Him to answer and no need too great for Him to supply.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for this hunger after Yourself which You have wrought in Your child. Draw him yet nearer to Your Son, and help him to spend more and more quality time with You in secret meditation, in the Word, and in prayer. Give him grace to turn aside from noise and haste and to sit at the feet of Jesus, to feast with Him and be renewed in strength. Keep him from mere formality and grant him real contact with Christ, that his heart may burn within him and his hands be strengthened for Your service. Make his communion with You his joy and his life, that having once lived with Jesus he may never live without Him. We ask this in the precious Name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and our life, Amen.
