more quality time with Jesus Christ

We join you in this beautiful and holy desire to spend more and more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ, and we rejoice that your heart is longing for deeper fellowship with Him. This hunger itself is a gift from God, for He puts within us the desire to seek Him.

The Lord deeply desires this intimate fellowship with us as well. He does not want us to merely know about Him, but to truly know Him and abide in His presence daily. Scripture reminds us, Be still, and know that I am God Psalm 46:10. And Jesus calls us to remain in Him, Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me John 15:4. When we draw near to Him, He promises to draw near to us, as it is written Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you James 4:8. Our quality time with Him is not out of duty but out of love, seeking first His Kingdom and His righteousness Matthew 6:33, and setting our hearts to dwell in His presence as David prayed, One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple Psalm 27:4.

We encourage you to continue to set apart intentional, undistracted time each day to be with Him, whether early in the morning or in the quiet of the evening, in prayer, in reading and meditating on His Word, and in simply being still before Him to listen. Even a few moments of fully focused communion are more precious than many hurried words. Ask the Holy Spirit to help guard that time and to deepen your love for Jesus more and more.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for this dear one whose heart longs to be closer to You. We ask that You would pour out a fresh hunger and thirst for Your presence and help us all to spend more and more quality time with You. Draw us into the secret place, teach us to be still before You, and open our ears to hear Your voice through Your Word. Help us to seek You first above all else, to abide in Christ daily, and to bear fruit that remains for Your glory. Fill our time together with Your peace, Your joy, and Your transforming love, and let us grow ever more conformed to the image of Your Son. Keep our hearts from distraction and the cares of this world, and lead us into deeper communion with You day by day. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We are encouraged by your desire and we will continue to pray that the Lord will richly bless your fellowship with Him and make His presence more real and sweet to you each day as you seek Him with all your heart, for it is written, You will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart Jeremiah 29:13.

We are so encouraged by this desire in you, to spend more quality time with the Lord. That hunger itself is something God delights in, and we are grateful you shared it so simply with us.

We have found it helps to think of this not as trying harder for one big moment, but as training gently over time. Like preparing for a long walk, a few minutes faithfully given each day shapes us more than waiting for a perfect stretch of hours. Even small, regular time adds up, and it is good to see ourselves as a work in progress while the Lord forms us.

If it helps, consider choosing one small, protected window you can actually keep. For many that is the first minutes of the morning in the same quiet spot, phone set aside, with your Bible open. Begin with a brief prayer, read a short passage slowly, talk with Him about what stands out, and be still for a moment before the day begins. A simple routine like that tends to make us stable, not stale, and frees us to be present with Him instead of rushing.

We are praying for you as you draw nearer to Him.

Father, thank You for placing this desire in our friend's heart. Draw near as they seek You, give them joy in Your presence, and help them protect steady time with You each day. Lead them gently and make that time fruitful in Your hands. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your longing to spend more and more quality time with Jesus Christ is itself evidence of His grace drawing you, for no heart truly seeks fellowship with Christ unless Christ has first sought it. There is no holier desire and no richer privilege than this.

One objective of Christ's religion is to bring His disciples into union and communion with its great Founder, that they may have fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. This fellowship is not a mere form. There is a communion of faith by which we trust Him, and a communion of conversation by which we talk with Him in prayer. In prayer rightly offered, you talk to God and Christ talks with you. You tell Him the dangers that lie before you and He tells you of the shield of Omnipotence with which He will guard you. He who is much in prayer will hold very much fellowship with Jesus Christ Himself.

Remember that Jesus Christ Himself must be in the forefront of all. His Bible, His day, His Church and His ordinances are precious because they have to do with Him, but the personal, living, loving Jesus must occupy all your thoughts. Looking unto Jesus is better than looking unto your own progress. To have done with self and live by faith in Jesus Christ Himself is the best course for a Christian, for Jesus Himself is the essence of His own work. He loved you and gave Himself for you.

Therefore take time to feast with Him. Jesus says, Come and break your fast. Many a battle has been lost because the soldiers were not in good condition for the fight, and you need stamina if you are to do hard and long work for Him. A sitting silently at the feet of Jesus is of more worth than all the clatter of outward service. Do not be satisfied with external and mechanical religion, with hearing and reading and yet never coming into personal contact with Christ. Seek that mysterious touch of faith by which virtue flows from Him to you.

Follow your Lord's own example, who rose up a great while before day and went out into a solitary place to pray. The Master's prayers were a free, outspoken talk with the Most High, and He loved to put prayer first of all. Though He lived in the spirit of prayer, yet He must have His special time and place to pray. So must you. Set apart a season, early and undisturbed if possible, where you can be alone with Him, with the Word open before you and your heart open to Him.

Be encouraged that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. He is always Himself. He will be tomorrow what He has been yesterday and is today. The same Saviour who welcomed sinners and supped with His disciples still stands at the door and knocks, saying, If any man hear My voice and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him and he with Me. That blessed supping with Jesus will restore and strengthen you.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for putting this holy hunger in this heart. Help Your child to spend more and more quality time with You, not from duty alone but from love to Jesus Christ Himself. Teach us to draw near to You in prayer and in the Word, to walk with Christ and to talk with Him, to come and break our fast with Him daily and to know the sweetness of unbroken fellowship. Keep us loyal to our King and make us good soldiers of Jesus Christ, zealous to serve Him with heart and earnestness. Grant growing communion, deeper knowledge of Him, and quiet confidence in His unchanging love. We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Priest and Prophet, our life and our hope. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
