Your desire to spend more and more quality time with the Lord is itself a good and holy desire, and we thank God for putting it in your heart. We join you in prayer and ask our Heavenly Father to draw you closer to Himself and to help you abide faithfully with Christ each day, in the Name of Jesus Christ.
We pray that the Father will give you grace to set apart time for Him with a steady purpose, not as one seeking only ease and relaxation, but as a wrestler who trains with discipline. The Christian life is a contest that requires dust and sweat and perseverance, and it is through such faithful labor that we are made perfect. May God help you to choose what will last for eternity over the distractions of this present life, and to seek the true glory that comes from walking with Him.
May He teach you to deck your house and your heart with prayer, with reading of Scripture, with vigils and with good works, so that Christ may be welcomed there as King. As you arm yourself in this way and wash away what hinders you, you will be counted worthy to live to the glory of God and to enjoy deeper fellowship with His Son.
So we pray: Heavenly Father, grant to our brother and sister a hunger for Your presence, wisdom to order their days, strength to persevere in prayer, and joy in communion with Your Son Jesus Christ. Keep them from sluggishness, guard them in tribulation, and let their time with You bear fruit in love and holiness. We ask this by Your grace and love toward us in our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
