more quality time with Jesus Christ

We rejoice with you in this beautiful and holy desire to spend more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ and we gladly join you in bringing this request before our Heavenly Father.

This longing in your heart is from God Himself and it pleases Him greatly when we seek to draw near to Him. We are reminded in James 4:8 to draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. And in Jeremiah 29:13 we are promised you will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. Your desire to spend more time with Him is already an answer to His invitation to abide.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him first above all else, for Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:33 to seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Quality time with Him grows as we remain in His Word, speak to Him in prayer, and be still before Him to listen. As Jesus said in John 15:4, remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. Even a few quiet moments set apart each day, with a Bible open and a heart ready to listen, will bear much fruit as you behold His beauty as described in Psalm 27:4.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the hunger You have placed in this heart to know You more and to spend more quality time with You. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would draw our dear friend ever closer to You. Help them to make time with You the greatest priority and joy of each day. Quiet every distraction and still their heart before You, that they may hear Your voice through Your Word and through prayer. Teach them to be still and know that You are God as Psalm 46:10 says, and to find rest and strength in Your presence. Fill their time with You with Your peace, Your wisdom, and Your love, and let their fellowship with Jesus grow deeper and sweeter each day. We ask that You help them to remain in Christ continually and to walk in Your presence all the days of their life. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We're grateful you put this longing into words. Wanting more quality time with Jesus is such a good desire, and we are glad to bring it to the Father with you.

One insight that has encouraged us is to think of this less as trying harder for a big spiritual moment and more as training gently over time. Like preparing for a long walk, growth usually comes not from one intense effort but from small, regular steps that add up. That takes some pressure off. It helps to see ourselves as works in progress and to let consistency matter more than intensity.

A simple next step that often helps is to choose one small, protected window you can keep most days, even ten or fifteen minutes at the same time and place if you can. Leave your Bible there the night before so it's ready, begin with a brief honest prayer, read slowly, and close by talking with the Lord about what stood out. If you miss a day, just return the next without guilt and keep going.

We are praying for you as you seek Him.

Father, thank You for the desire You have placed in our friend's heart for You. Draw them close as they seek You, help them find steady and unhurried time in Your presence, and guide them as they walk with You day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a blessed mark of grace in the soul when the heart cries out for more time with Jesus Christ, for this hunger is itself His gift. The Lord Jesus is thoughtful of your wants and He invites you as He did His disciples of old, Come and break your fast. He spreads a table for you, not with mere outward form, but with living bread that strengthens for the battle and the long work of the day. Many a defeat is suffered because the soldier is not in good condition for the fight, and you rightly desire stamina that can only be had at His table.

Take heed that your religion be not merely mechanical and outward, where many press near to Christ and yet have no inward touching of His person. What you seek is real contact with Jesus, that mysterious touching by faith where virtue flows from Him to you. Deep waters are still, and the nearest fellowship is often quiet and hidden. You need not bring any fitness of your own. Come to Him as you did at the first, as a sinner, and as one who would follow Him wholly when He says, Follow Me, and Come and see.

He bids you bring your hard questions to Him, the harder the better. Prove Him with them. Whether it be your daily burdens or that special load which you have thought too great to lay before Him, carry it to Jesus. He delights to answer what no man can answer, and to show you the Father in Himself. And as those first disciples did, come and see where He dwells and abide with Him. The best part of any day is the portion spent with Jesus, and having once lived with Him, you will learn never to live without Him.

Let us pray together for this very thing.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You have put this holy desire in this heart to be much with Your Son. Draw this dear soul into more and more quality time with You, in secret prayer, in the hearing of Your Word, and in quiet meditation. Grant grace to redeem the time and to set apart the early hour and the still evening to sit at the feet of Jesus, to touch Him by living faith, and to consult with Him in every need. Keep this one from being satisfied with outward nearness while missing inward communion, and let the life of Christ become more fully their life. Make the time spent with Jesus fruitful in holiness, peace and strength for service, and let it be the beginning of better days still. We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our Savior and our life. Amen.
