Money

Servant of All
I need money right now because I am broke. I am not kidding because I am telling you the truth. I absolutely hate that I am having a hard time right now. That's why I am so angry!!

We hear your cry and we understand how heavy and frightening it is to be broke and to feel angry about the hardship you are facing. God sees your struggle and He cares about your needs, and we want to lift you up before Him together in Jesus name.

We also hear the anger in your words and we want to gently encourage you about this. It is understandable to feel distressed when finances are tight, but Scripture warns us that anger can quickly lead us away from trusting God. Ephesians 4:26 says, Be angry, and do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your wrath, and James 1:20 reminds us that the wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God. We pray that God will calm your heart and replace that anger with His peace as you bring your needs to Him, because Proverbs 16:32 teaches that he who is slow to anger is better than the mighty.

The Bible assures us that God is our provider and He knows what we need. Philippians 4:19 says, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and Matthew 6:33 says, But seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. At the same time, God calls us to contentment, diligence, and faithful stewardship. 1 Timothy 6:6 says godliness with contentment is great gain, and 2 Thessalonians 3:10 reminds us that if anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat. Proverbs 21:5 also teaches that the plans of the diligent surely lead to profit. We encourage you to seek God first, to be faithful in honest work as He provides opportunity, to steward what you have wisely, and to seek counsel and help from a local Bible believing church family who can come alongside you practically and spiritually.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to share lovingly that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and find true hope. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus, confess Him as Lord, and believe that God raised Him from the dead, for Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. When we come to God through Jesus, we can come with confidence that He hears us.

We pray together for you now. Father, we lift this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. You know the financial burden and the anger and distress being felt right now. We ask You to provide for every true need according to Your riches in glory, to open doors for honest work and provision, and to give wisdom to steward all that You provide. Grant peace that surpasses understanding, help to release anger and to trust You fully, and draw this heart closer to Jesus. Help this one to seek first Your Kingdom and to find contentment and hope in You, not in money alone. Lead to a strong local church where support and guidance can be found. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to keep praying daily in Jesus name, to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you as 1 Peter 5:7 says, and to take practical steps as God leads, making a simple budget, being faithful in small things, and asking God for wisdom as Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches to trust in Yahweh with all your heart and not lean on your own understanding. God is faithful and He will not abandon you.

We hear how real and pressing this is for you. Being broke is exhausting, and it makes sense you would feel angry about it. Thank you for telling the truth plainly instead of holding it in.

When money is tight, every bill and every unexpected cost can feel like pressure with no relief. That anger you named is often a signal of how much you are carrying and how much you want things to change.

We are praying for you to have wisdom and steady support in the next days. One practical step that has helped others is to not carry the numbers alone. If you have a trusted pastor, church office, or a local nonprofit that offers free financial counseling, consider reaching out this week to walk through your budget, bills and immediate needs together. Having another set of eyes can make a plan feel more doable and connect you to local help you might not know about.

You do not have to figure everything out at once. We are asking God to provide for your daily needs and to give you clear next steps.

Father, You see this need and the frustration that comes with it. Please provide for what is needed today, bring wise helpers alongside, and give peace and direction in the days ahead. Lead toward provision and stability as You will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest and angry cry about being broke has been heard, and it is right that you have poured it out plainly before the Lord who sees all our wants.

There is One who knows poverty to its very depths, not by hearsay but by experience. Though He was rich, yet for our sakes He became poor, and His poverty was voluntarily undertaken. He who was rich beyond all worlds veiled Himself in human flesh, was born where there was no room for Him, lived as the carpenter of Nazareth, and knew hunger and thirst and weariness and the loss of reputation and of comfort. He restricted His own power and walked the path of suffering, even to poverty in communion when He cried that He was forsaken, that you through His poverty might be rich.

That is the great exchange of the gospel. The riches He gives are not first of silver and gold, but of forgiveness, of peace with God, of adoption and eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ alone. When we have Christ, we are truly rich, even when the purse is empty. And when we have not Christ, though we had all the money in the world, we would still be poor indeed.

Your anger and distress are not hidden from Him, and it is our habit never to suffer guilt to lie upon our consciences, but as soon as we are sensible of a fault to admit it before the Lord and ask pardon for Jesus sake. Bring that very anger to Him now in confession. Tell Him of the bitterness you feel in this hard time, and ask Him to give you a calm and trusting heart.

It is evident that He has not given you up, for He often uses troubles, sickness, poverty or bereavement to keep us from sleeping ourselves to destruction and to draw us nearer to Himself. The day shall come when some will bless God for poverty because it helped them to Heaven, while others will have to mourn that they turned health and wealth into occasions for sin. Ask Him therefore not only for daily bread, but for contentment, wisdom and grace to use whatever He provides faithfully.

We will pray for you, that the Lord who knows your need will provide for your daily wants, open doors for honest work and help, guard you from desperate choices, and quiet your heart with His peace. Seek Him first for the true riches in Christ, and ask Him to supply what you need for this life according to His fatherly wisdom. If you have a faithful local church, make your need known there also, for the Lord often provides through His people, and be diligent in whatever lawful work your hands find to do, trusting Him day by day.

May the Lord who became poor for sinners make you rich toward Him, and give you grace to trust Him in this trial until He brings relief.
