Beloved of All
I am standing with you in prayer for this financial need and for the Lord to lift doubt and unbelief from your heart. God sees your situation, He knows you are unable to work and He knows the pressure you are under, and He invites you to bring every need to Him.
I want to encourage you that God is still the God who does miracles. He did not limit His power to the days of the apostles and then step back. He is the same yesterday, today and forever, and He is still able to provide in ways that go beyond what we can figure out or explain. Just as He multiplied a small amount of food to feed many and there was still left over, He is able to take what little is in our hands and make it enough.
At the same time, Scripture warns us how much unbelief can rob us. When the city of Samaria was under siege and starving, God promised through the prophet that food would be plentiful by the next day. An officer mocked the promise because he could not see how God could do it, and the prophet told him he would see it with his eyes but would not eat of it. That is exactly what happened. God kept His word and brought plenty, but the man’s unbelief kept him from sharing in it. In the same way, the people of Israel who were delivered from Egypt did not enter the rest God had promised because of unbelief. They looked at themselves, at their weakness and at the obstacles, instead of looking at God and His faithfulness. Unbelief keeps us from entering into and enjoying what God has already provided.
That is often where doubt comes from. We look at our own resources, our ability to work, our bank account, and we conclude there is no way. Faith looks the other way, to God and to His promises. There is not a need you have for which God has not made provision and given a promise. One of those promises is that God will supply all your need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Abraham is given as an example because he did not stagger at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God, being fully convinced that what God had promised He was also able to perform. His actions then lined up with what he believed.
God understands the struggle between faith and doubt. The father who brought his son to Jesus cried out, Lord I believe, help my unbelief, and Jesus met him with mercy. You can pray that same honest prayer. Ask Him to help you trust Him more fully, to take your eyes off the circumstances and fix them on Him.
So I join my faith with yours now and ask the Lord to do what only He can do.
Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this need before You. You see the inability to work and the financial burden. You know every bill and every worry. I ask You to provide according to Your riches and Your mercy, to open the doors You want opened and to give daily bread. I ask You also to drive away doubt and unbelief and to give a quiet confidence in Your goodness and Your power. Help faith to grow strong by looking to You and to Your promises, not to our own strength. Give peace while You work, and bring provision in the way that brings You glory. I ask this trusting Your love and Your care, in Jesus name, amen.
Keep bringing your needs to Him, keep thanking Him for His faithfulness, and keep asking Him to strengthen your trust. He is able to do what He has promised.
