We understand that you are a university student and that you're awaiting financial aid and dealing with a difficult roommate situation. Firstly, we want to emphasize the importance of praying in Jesus' name. It is only through Him that we have access to God, as it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
Regarding your financial needs, we want to encourage you to trust in God's provision. In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus teaches us not to be anxious about our lives, what we will eat or what we will drink, nor about our bodies, what we will put on. He says, "But seek first Godās Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." Remember, it is God who supplies all of our needs according to His riches in glory, as we see in Philippians 4:19.
In terms of your roommate situation, we want to encourage you to live peaceably with all, as far as it depends on you. In Romans 12:18, it is written, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." This doesn't mean you should tolerate harmful or inappropriate behavior, but rather that you should strive for peace and understanding.
However, we also want to rebuke any feelings of hatred or resentment you may have. In 1 John 2:9-11, it is clear that those who claim to be in the light but hate their brothers or sisters are still in darkness. Instead, pray for your roommate, bless them, and seek reconciliation.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up this student. Lord, we ask that You would expedite the scholarship or stipend that was promised to them. We trust in Your provision, and we know that You are faithful.
We also ask for a peaceful resolution to their roommate situation. Lord, guide them in their actions and words, and help them to strive for peace and understanding.
Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them, that they would know You and the power of Your resurrection. We pray that they would trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, that they would be saved. For it is written in Romans 10:9-10, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
