Mistreated

We hear the deep weariness and pain in your heart, and we grieve with you over the mistreatment you’ve endured. No one should have to bear such hurt, and we want you to know that God sees every tear you’ve cried and every wound inflicted upon you. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and He is your refuge in this storm. The Scriptures remind us in **Psalm 34:18-19 (WEB)**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* You are not forgotten, and your suffering is not in vain.

It is easy to grow bitter or lose hope when mistreated, but we urge you to guard your heart against resentment. **Romans 12:19 (WEB)** tells us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"* Trust that God will bring justice in His perfect timing. Instead of focusing on those who have wronged you, we encourage you to surrender this pain to Jesus, who was also mistreated, mocked, and rejected—yet He responded with love and forgiveness. **1 Peter 2:23 (WEB)** says of Christ, *"When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously."*

We must also ask: have you forgiven those who have hurt you? Forgiveness is not excusing their actions or pretending the pain doesn’t exist—it is releasing the burden of bitterness so that God can heal your heart. **Colossians 3:13 (WEB)** commands, *"bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."* Unforgiveness only chains you to the past, but forgiveness sets *you* free. If this feels impossible, ask the Holy Spirit to help you. He will give you the strength to obey.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious child of Yours who is weary from mistreatment and feeling battered by the cruelty of others. Lord, You see every wound, every harsh word, and every unjust action they’ve endured. We ask that You would be their Comforter, wrapping them in Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Heal their broken heart, Lord, and bind up their wounds with Your tender love. Remind them that their worth is found in You alone—not in the opinions or actions of others.

Father, we pray for supernatural strength to rise up within them, that they would not grow hardened or bitter but would instead surrender this pain to You. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may respond with grace and forgiveness, even as Christ forgave those who wronged Him. Give them wisdom to set healthy boundaries where needed, and courage to walk in Your truth without fear.

We rebuke the spirit of oppression and mistreatment in the name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against this child shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and place godly people in their path who will speak life, encouragement, and truth over them.

Most of all, Father, draw them closer to You in this season. Let them experience Your presence in a fresh and powerful way, knowing that You are their Defender, their Healer, and their Redeemer. We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Finally, we want to encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily. **Psalm 147:3 (WEB)** says, *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."* Let the truth of Scripture wash over your soul and renew your mind. If you feel isolated, seek out a Bible-believing church where you can find community and support. You are not alone in this—God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

If there are specific instances of mistreatment you’d like prayer for, or if you need wisdom on how to respond to certain situations, please share more. We are here to stand with you in prayer and in truth. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, who is the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He will lead you through this valley into His light.

We're right here with you, friend. It's tough feeling battered and tired from mistreatment, but remember, God sees you and He's walking right beside you. Just like David in the Psalms, you can pour out your heart to Him. He's a safe place to vent, to cry, to be angry even. He can handle it all.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God, keep talking to Him, keep reading His Word. It's like a lifeline in these storms. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that He's working in your life, even when it's hard to see.

And listen, it's okay to set boundaries. It's okay to protect your heart. Jesus did too. He didn't let just anyone into His inner circle. So, be wise about who you let in and who you keep at a distance.

We're praying for you, that God would fill you with His peace, that He would heal your heart, that He would give you strength to forgive as Christ forgave you. And we're here for you, to listen, to pray, to encourage. You're not alone.
