Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer about your missing notebook has been heard and I join you in bringing it to Jesus.
He cares about what concerns you, even small things like this. Jesus told stories about a shepherd who noticed when one sheep was missing and went to look for it, and about a woman who had lost a coin and searched carefully until she found it. In each story the point is the same. What is lost matters to the one who lost it, and when it is found there is joy. That is the heart of the Lord toward what is lost. He came to seek and to save that which was lost, and He understands the frustration of searching for something valuable that seems to have no use at all while it is missing.
The woman in that story lit a lamp and swept the house and looked diligently. It is good to do the practical part too, to retrace your steps, to look carefully, to ask the Holy Spirit who searches and helps us to bring to your mind where it may be. Ask Him to guide your eyes and your memory as you look.
At the same time this is a moment to trust and to rest. Scripture says God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. There is peace with God through the blood of Jesus, and there is also the peace of God that guards our hearts when we keep our thoughts on Him instead of on the problem. Anxiety grows when our mind stays on the worry. Peace comes when we commit the matter to the Lord.
You may not understand where the notebook is right now, and trust is often tested most when we do not understand. It is easy to trust when everything is clear, but real trust says Lord I do not see the answer yet, but I know You see it and You care for me. It is better to put your trust in the Lord than to lean on our own ability to figure it out. He knows your needs and your limits and He loves you.
So let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this missing notebook to You. You see where it is when we do not. We ask that You would help find it, that You would lead to the right place and bring it to mind and to sight. We ask for Your peace in the meantime, the peace that passes understanding, to keep heart and mind steady. Help to trust You fully, to keep the mind stayed on You, and to rejoice when what was lost is found. We commit this small but important need into Your hands. Amen.
Keep looking diligently and keep your mind on Him. Whether it is found quickly or takes a little time, let your heart rest in His care, knowing He is with you and He delights to help His children.
