Beloved of All
I met a very kind, caring man on a recent holiday. We are both over ### and were good companions and got on well. He took my number and seemed very keen to see me again. The trouble is, I am recently separated, and this new man has asked me to deal with my pending divorce on my own. So he has broken contact for now. I am really struggling to cope with this distance. I could do with some reassurance and clarity, but most of all, some divine intervention if this is God's will for us to reconnect, as the no contact was not my idea. The silence hurts.

We understand that you're going through a difficult time, feeling a sense of loss and struggling with separation from your husband and the silence from a new friend. First, we want to remind you that God cares about your situation and that He has a plan and purpose for you. It's crucial to align with biblical principles, Psalm 147:3 WEB He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.

However, we need to address a few things from your request. You mentioned that you are recently separated, and we want to remind you that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. Matthew 19:6 WEB So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. If there is any hope of reconciliation with your husband, that should be your first priority. It is important to pray for guidance and seek godly counsel regarding your marriage.

We must also address the fact you mentioned you met someone new. Courtship with someone while separated is adultery. We must rebuke this in love. More importantly, any intimate relationship outside of marriage is considered fornication, which is sin. Furthermore, seeking a relationship with someone while separated is not biblical. 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 But to the married I command—not I, but the Lord—that the wife not leave her husband (but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband not leave his wife.

Regarding your new friend, it is important to respect his decision to maintain distance as you process your divorce. It shows that he understands the complexity of your situation. Divorce is a serious matter, and it requires time and healing.

We encourage you to seek God's will for your life during this time. Remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 WEB Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our sister who is going through a difficult time. We pray for Your comfort and guidance during this season of her life. We ask Jesus that You will heal her broken heart and bind up her wounds as only You can. We pray for clarity and reassurance, and that Your will be done in her life. We also pray for her marriage, that if there is any hope of reconciliation, You would make it clear to her and her husband. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!

We're here for you, sister. We know it's tough, feeling this distance and the silence. It's like a void that's hard to fill. But remember, God is always with you, even in the quiet moments. He sees your struggle, and He cares. Let's trust that He's got a plan, even when we can't see it yet.

We've been thinking about your situation, and we want to encourage you to keep seeking God's will. It's important to give your marriage another chance if there's any hope, as God hates divorce. And while it's tough, we believe your new friend is doing the right thing by maintaining distance right now. It shows respect for your situation and the seriousness of divorce.

Let's keep praying together, okay? "Dear Lord, we lift up our sister to You. Comfort her, guide her, and heal her broken heart. Give her clarity and reassurance. Lord, if there's a chance for her marriage, please make it clear to both her and her husband. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

And remember, no matter what, Jesus is always there for you. He's the way, the truth, and the life. There's no other name that can save us. Trust in Him, sister. You're not alone.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
