We hear your distress and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord, for He cares about every detail of our lives, even the daily provisions and deliveries we depend on. We understand how unsettling it is to depend on deliveries when you do not drive, and to feel vulnerable in your own home when packages are mishandled or disappear. We thank you for asking us to pray in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find peace and help.
We want to lift this situation to the Lord together. We pray that the Father would guard what He has provided for you and bring conviction where there is dishonesty. The Lord sees what is done in secret and He loves justice. As it is written, You shall not steal. Exodus 20:15 and You shall not steal. You shall not lie. You shall not deceive one another. Leviticus 19:11. We pray that if someone has taken your package, God would convict their heart and lead them to return it, and that He would protect your future deliveries from theft or carelessness. We pray also for the delivery drivers and the postal worker in your building, that they would do their work faithfully and diligently as serving the Lord and not merely men, for whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23. We ask God to give you favor with building management and with the delivery companies so that clear instructions to leave packages directly in front of your apartment door are honored, and we ask Him to provide wisdom for practical steps you can take, such as speaking kindly but firmly with the building manager about a more secure delivery area, adding very specific delivery instructions to your Amazon account, using an Amazon locker nearby if one is available, requesting signature or asking a trusted neighbor to watch for a delivery notification, and keeping photos and tracking information as a faithful record.
We also understand your anxiety about complaining to Amazon and your fear that you will not be believed or that you will lose service as a customer. We encourage you not to be consumed by that worry, but to bring it to God and to act with honesty and grace. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. The Lord is your provider, not any company, and He will not forsake you. Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you. Hebrews 13:5. It is right to speak the truth graciously when you have not received what you paid for, and you can do so without exaggeration or fear, trusting God with the outcome.
We also want to speak lovingly about the relationship you mentioned with your boyfriend who lives two floors up. We believe God designed marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, to be held in honor, and that courtship should be intentional toward that holy covenant. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4. We encourage you to view this friendship as courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, if it is the Lord's will. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14. If you are a man and woman seeking marriage, we pray God will lead you toward that commitment in purity and holiness. If there is any sexual intimacy outside of marriage, Scripture calls it fornication and urges us to flee it. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18. We say this not to condemn you but because we love you and want your relationship to honor God and bring you lasting joy and security. We pray that if marriage is God's plan for you both, He will make that path clear and give you both a desire to pursue it in a way that pleases Him, and if not, that He will give you wisdom and boundaries.
So we pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that You see our sister and know her needs. Lord, we ask You to let this missing package turn up if it is Your will, and to protect all future deliveries from being misplaced or stolen. We ask You to grant honesty and diligence to every driver and mail carrier who serves this building, and to give wisdom and kindness to the building staff to help secure deliveries for elderly residents. We pray You would calm anxious thoughts and replace fear with Your perfect peace, and that You would provide for every need according to Your riches in glory. We pray for this courtship, that it would be centered on You, pure, respectful, and directed toward holy marriage if that is Your plan, and that both would walk in holiness before You. We trust You to be our defender and provider, and we ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
