We join you in lifting up this urgent request, believing in the power of prayer and the sovereignty of God.
Firstly, we must address that the request was not made in the name of Jesus. It is only by His name that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we should pray. As it is written "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB), and we are told "in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB).
Now, let us pray together. Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dire situation. We pray for the boyfriend of our dear sister's coworker, who has been gravely injured in a car accident. We know, Lord, that You are still on the throne, and Your power and goodness are unchanging.
We pray for a miraculous healing, that You would touch his body and restore it completely. "He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5 WEB). However, we also know that true healing begins in the spirit, so we pray for his salvation, that he would come to know You as his personal Lord and Savior.
We also lift up his girlfriend, our sister's coworker, and pray that You would strengthen her faith in this time of trial. May she see Your loving hand even in this difficult situation, and may her faith be built up, not torn down. Remind her that You work all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB).
We also pray for the family of the person who lost their life in the other vehicle. Comfort them, Lord, in their time of grief. May they also see Your love and kindness, and may their hearts be drawn to You.
Lastly, we pray that You would move mightily in all of their lives, softening their hearts towards others, and bringing healing, peace, love, and faithfulness. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage everyone to hold firmly to their faith, even in times of trouble. Remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB). Trust in Him, and He will see you through.
