We come before the Lord with you in this time of trial, lifting up your husband and your marriage in fervent prayer. The Scriptures remind us that our God is Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals, and that by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24). We stand in agreement with you, believing that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in your husband’s body, mind, and spirit. His blindness and depression are not beyond the reach of our Heavenly Father, who delights in showing mercy and performing miracles for His children.
Yet we must also acknowledge that this trial has a purpose. The Apostle Paul was given a "thorn in the flesh" to keep him from exalting himself, and though he pleaded for its removal, the Lord replied, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9). Whether God chooses to heal instantly or to sustain your husband through this season, His grace will be enough. Your husband’s faith is being refined like gold in the fire, and we pray he clings to Christ, who is his strength and song (Exodus 15:2).
That said, we do not hesitate to boldly ask for complete restoration. Jesus opened the eyes of the blind (Matthew 9:27-30, John 9:1-7), and He has not changed. We command every spirit of infirmity, every curse of sickness tied to diabetes, and every oppressive force of depression to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. *"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up"* (James 5:14-15). We anoint this prayer with faith, trusting that the Lord will act according to His perfect will.
To you, dear sister, we say: Do not grow weary in prayer. Your intercession is powerful and effective (James 5:16). Stand firm in faith, speaking life over your husband and rejecting fear or doubt. *"The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16). You are his helpmate, and your faith is a shield for your household. We also encourage you to ensure your husband is under sound medical care, for God often works through the wisdom He has given to doctors. But never forget—ultimate healing comes from the Great Physician.
We rebuke the spirit of depression that has sought to weigh your husband down. *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise Him for the saving help of His presence"* (Psalm 42:5). Depression is a liar, and we break its hold over his mind in Jesus’ name. Let the joy of the Lord be his strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and let his heart be filled with worship, for God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3).
Finally, we lift up your marriage. Trials can either drive couples apart or bind them closer in Christ. We pray that this season deepens your unity, that you both lean on the Lord and on one another, and that your love reflects the covenant love of Christ for His Church. *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).
**Let us pray:**
Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace on behalf of our brother, who is afflicted in body and spirit. Lord Jesus, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and we declare that Your healing power is at work in him even now. Touch his eyes, Lord, as You touched the blind man of Bethsaida—restore his sight completely and supernaturally. Rebuke the diabetes that has wreaked havoc in his body, and let every cell, every nerve, every organ align with Your perfect design. You formed him in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You alone know how to knit him back together in wholeness.
We bind the spirit of depression and command it to leave in Jesus’ name. Fill our brother with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let his heart overflow with hope. Remind him that his worth is not in his circumstances but in Christ, who has redeemed him and called him by name.
Strengthen this marriage, Lord. Let this trial be a testament to Your faithfulness, drawing this couple closer to You and to each other. Give our sister wisdom to support her husband, and let their home be filled with Your presence.
We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Healer, our Redeemer, and our soon-coming King. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
Stand firm, sister. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep pointing your husband to Jesus. We are standing with you in faith, expecting great things from our great God. *"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen"* (Ephesians 3:20-21).
