We’ve been sitting with your words and the sheer weight of love you carry for your son and your daughter. What stands out to us is how you began, thanking Jesus for a peaceful night and a calm day, and naming the improvements you’re seeing. In the middle of everything still heavy, you’re keeping your eyes on the small treasures, and that takes a grounded kind of faith. We don’t want to skip past that.

It sounds like you’re living day by day, sometimes hour by hour, holding hope for no more setbacks while bracing for the real ones that still come at mealtimes or in the mornings. When you asked for “the kind that surpasses all understanding,” we remembered that you’ve already tasted it, you’ve seen your son sleep peacefully, you’ve seen fewer spiritual attacks. Those aren’t small comforts; they’re signs that God hasn’t stepped away. The steady, quiet improvement you’re watching is worth anchoring to. And when the confusion at the table or the tormented moments resurface, it’s not a reversal of what God is building; it’s a moment you’re not facing alone.

As you look into that new service for your son and consider adding caregivers, we hope you can give yourself permission to simply weigh each option with the wisdom you’re asking God for, you don’t need to carry the whole outcome on your shoulders tonight. That’s part of what “His peace” looks like in real, practical terms: making the next right decision and then resting.

For your older daughter, we hear the ache underneath your words, the longing for her to see clearly, for restoration of the bond you once had. We are standing with you in asking God to gently untangle her heart and bring her back not by pressure, but by a steady pull of love. That work is His, and while you wait, He holds both her and you.

Father, thank You for every peaceful night and calm day You’ve already given. Tonight we ask again: settle this son’s mind and body, quiet the confusion around his meals, and let his rest be deep and uninterrupted. Keep filling in what’s broken, piece by piece. For this mom, give her the steady confidence that comes from seeing You already at work, and guide her as she makes decisions about new services and caregivers. For her daughter, soften what’s hardened, remove the voices that isolate, and restore her to the family You blessed her with. Cover this entire home with Your peace that truly does go beyond what makes sense. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The peace which you have witnessed in your son is no small token, for it is the very peace of God, that which passeth all understanding, keeping his heart and mind through Christ Jesus. You have tasted that the Lord is gracious, and these calm days are but the foretaste of Heaven's perfect peace, for even now, with sorrows surging round, the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. That same peace which stilled the stormy Galilee is at work in him, and you do well to give thanks for every quiet night and calm meal, these are the gentle leaves of the healing tree, and even the least thing about Christ is charged with restoring virtue.

Yet you speak of setbacks, of morning torment and confusion. Do not let your heart be troubled by these ripples on the surface, for the deep tide of Christ's healing flows unbroken beneath. It is the way of the Great Physician to bring full restoration by degrees, that we might learn to trust Him more. When the palsied man lay before Christ, forgiveness came first, and then the command to rise and walk. So it may be with your son; inward peace has stolen over his soul, and the outward healing follows. The leaves of that tree are for the healing of the nations, not only fruit, but leaves, the smallest mercies, are medicine to his spirit. Those minor setbacks shall not prevail, for the Lord will perfect that which concerneth him. Only keep your mind stayed on Him, and let your trust be childlike and firm; then shall your peace deepen, even while the conflict lasts.

Now concerning your daughter, you have laid hold of the very heart of the matter. She has wandered into a path that is not the way of peace, for there can be no true blessing upon a union that runs against the clear ordinance of God. The Scripture is plain: marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and all intimacy belongs within that sacred bond. To live as though marriage were a thing of no account is to build upon sand, and the spiritual attacks you sense are the bitter fruit of that disobedience. Yet take courage from Peter's story. Think of him, how he fell, denying his Lord, and yet how tenderly he was restored. It was not by a thunderbolt from Sinai, but by the crowing of a cock and a look from Christ. That look severed Peter from the world and brought him back to his first love. I say to you, pray that your daughter receives such a look from her Lord. He can grant her the same inward vision of His wounded love, and then no toxic influence shall hold her. You long for her heart to be softened? Then rest in the prayer of Christ Himself, who ever lives to intercede. When He prayed for Peter, his restoration was sure. So it shall be for her, if she will but turn at His reproof. Go, then, and with believing tears, ask the Good Shepherd to fetch His wandering lamb home. The joy of restoration is a deep and pure delight, and He is able to make her grateful heart to bloom again, and to mend every bond of family affection.

As for the new services and caregivers, and all the daily needs of your son, remember that the healing power is conspicuously present where Christ is taught. Seek only that His Word be honored in every help you secure, and He shall guide your judgment. The Lord who has already provided new advocates will send more labourers of His own choosing. He knows what helpers will best speak peace to your son's spirit. Only watch that you do not measure His supply by the hour of trial, for He often allows us to feel our emptiness that we may prize His fullness. Let your chief request be that his caregivers, whoever they may be, have wisdom drenched in grace, for a look of tender love may do more than a world of skill.

Now cast all these burdens upon the broad shoulders of the covenant-keeping God. You have seen the Lord answer; you have watched your son enjoy peace that this world cannot give. Hold fast to that. There is another Paradise into which Christ will introduce you in due time, and even now you have a foretaste in the perfect peace and rest He gives. Celestial fruits on earthly ground! The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed, not partly, but fully, in spirit, soul, and body, according to His will. Let that be your anchor. Go in peace, and expect great things, for He who has vanquished death and all its powers shall certainly subdue every lesser foe beneath your feet.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You give thanks for peaceful nights and daily breakthroughs in your son’s life, yet the very next breath cries out against the confusion that returned with his morning meal. This is the way of our struggle in this present age, not a straight line but a constant turning to the Physician who alone can heal. You have asked for peace that surpasses understanding, and this is the right request, for the peace of the world is not the peace of Christ. The peace of Christ is not the absence of trial but the calm of the soul anchored in Him while the storm still rages. When He said, “My peace I give unto you,” He did not mean the peace which is mere outward quiet, but that which renders you stronger, even when the diseased part must be cut off for the health of the whole body.

Consider your older daughter. You pray for her to see that living with a young man outside marriage is not a marriage, and you have discerned rightly. But mark this: concord is not in every case a good thing, since even robbers agree together. The peace she now has in that household is an evil peace, a mutinous agreement against God’s order. Do not be afraid when the sword of His word brings division there. Christ Himself said He came not to send peace, but a sword. And what is that sword? It is the cutting off of the sin that destroys. When the physician amputates the incurable part, he preserves the rest of the body. So it may be that the present turmoil and isolation you lament is God’s severe mercy, breaking a false bond that would lead her to ruin. The enemy uses that relationship to isolate her, to plant ingratitude, and to stir up war against the family that loves her. So pray with boldness not merely for a restored family bond, but first for her to be at war with that sinful union. Her true peace is only possible when she is first brought into enmity with what God hates.

You rebuke spiritual attacks and command them to leave. Do not grow weary in this, for the enemy does not easily release a soul he thinks is his. Yet the sudden conversion of Paul is our proof that no heart is beyond the sudden, sovereign call of Christ. He who revealed the Gospel to the great persecutor without human intervention can, in a moment, sober your daughter from the height of her madness and give her back a grateful, respectful heart. Do not look for this to come by your own arguments. Entrust her to the same divine teaching that transforms the violent into the meek. And while you wait for that breakthrough, do not let your own heart be poisoned by bitterness toward her or the young man. To be at peace with God in your own spirit, even while you war against the sin, is the high calling. For the peacemaker is the one who first subdues the disturbance within.

Now for your son, for whom you ask a saturation of the Spirit’s peace. You pray his meals be calm, his sleep sweet, his outings joyful, his body free from injury. These are good and proper petitions. But recall the wind that blows where it lists; you hear its sound but cannot tell its path. So it is with the Spirit’s working. He brings peace, but often through paths we do not expect. The minor setbacks you mention are not a failure of prayer; they are the very ground where faith is tested and made strong. When the confusion comes at a meal, see it not as a sign of God’s absence, but as the occasion for the Spirit to calm the storm again. Your son’s healing, like all true healing, is a work of restoration that must be maintained by constant grace. You are right to surround him with prayers for a hedge of protection, for the full armor of God, for the precious blood. This is no mere figure of words; it is the majestic language of the Church’s warfare, and if we speak it with faith, it is not void of power.

In all this, let the pattern of your prayer be the salutation of the Church: “Peace be unto all.” But this peace is not a shallow truce. It is the peace that comes when the mutinous passions within are subdued, when the demonic attack is repelled, and when the will is aligned with God’s good order. For your son, pray for the peace that manifests in a calm meal, a quiet night, a smooth outing. For your daughter, pray for the peace that first must appear as a sword, severing the unnatural tie that she mistakes for love, so that she may be united again to her family and, above all, to her God. You are one body with your son and your daughter, and when one member suffers or rebels, all suffer. But remember, the one who is over the Church says not “Peace be unto you” alone, but “Peace be unto all,” because unless the whole body is in harmony, health cannot be upheld. So continue to carry them both, the afflicted and the wandering, before the throne where their angels always behold the face of the Father, trusting that He is able to bring all your petitions, for calm meals, for restored bonds, for godly caregivers, for every breakthrough, into a beautiful, single work of peace.
