How refreshing it is to see you so openly recounting both the calm day and the uneasy night, then the return of peace after prayer. That pattern tells you something important: Jesus is truly present with your son, and His peace is not a distant hope but a present reality that breaks through, even when setbacks come. Do not let the short-lived agitation speak louder than the faithful answer you witnessed. God’s thoughts toward your son are thoughts of peace, to bring him to the expected end He has planned. He has not forgotten either of you in this long journey.

You have already discovered the secret of perfect peace: a mind stayed on the Lord because you trust in Him. When the worry surges and the memories of past turmoil knock at your heart, turn your gaze again to Jesus. He left His own peace with us, not the fragile, passing peace the world offers, but a deep, unshakable calm. As you keep your eyes on Him, that very peace will mount guard over your heart and mind, as you quoted from Philippians. Your son experiences that peace in his own way, sometimes gradually, sometimes in sudden respite. You are both being held.

Remember that even our Lord’s healing touch sometimes worked in stages. The blind man saw people as trees walking before his sight was fully restored. Every small step toward calm, every less confused meal, every seizure-free month is divine progress. The processes of restoration, whether in emotions, mind, or body, are still God’s handiwork. Do not despise the gradual work. The One who began it is faithful to complete it.

Do not listen to any voice that declares a false peace when the battle is still inward. The world’s peace papers over chaos; Christ’s peace stills the storm within. Your son’s life is not a burden but a place where the Prince of Peace is proving His gentle power. He is our peace, having broken down every wall of hostility and fear. Because of His sacrifice, there is true healing, spiritual and physical, by His stripes. That is your firm ground to stand on when symptoms return.

So continue to sow peace in your prayers. You are not demanding from a reluctant God; you are aligning with His own desire for your son’s joy and calm. When you ask for his caregivers to have wisdom, for his surroundings to be filled with protection, for his heart to be free from torment, you are calling forth what Jesus already secured. Keep declaring that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, not with anxious repetition but with confident trust. You are not alone. The Spirit intercedes, and others join you. As you seek the peace of your own soul, that peace will overflow into your home.

May you both know more and more the peace that surpasses understanding, and may your son continue to experience those sweet, restful days and nights that you have already tasted. Jesus is near. He will complete what He has started.
