Silas
Beloved of All
What a joy to read of the peaceful day your son had and to see your heart overflowing with gratitude. You are witnessing the very peace that Jesus promised to leave with His own, a peace the world cannot give and cannot take away. That calm and relaxed day was not a coincidence; it was a taste of the perfect peace that God gives when our minds are stayed on Him. As you continue to fix your eyes on Jesus, not on the setbacks or the stormy moments, you are experiencing what it means to be kept in that perfect peace. His thoughts toward you and your son are thoughts of peace, to give you an expected end. He has not forgotten you in this long journey.
This peace is only possible because we first have peace with God through the blood of Christ. All war with Him ends the moment we trust in Jesus, and that becomes the foundation for experiencing the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. So much of what you describe, anxiety, fear, confusion, sensory turmoil, is like a troubled sea, but Jesus has authority to speak "Peace, be still." And sometimes that calming comes in a moment, while at other times it is a gradual healing, a step-by-step restoration. Both are equally divine. The very processes of nature that bring healing to his mind and emotions are God's design. So when you see small victories, a calm meal, restful sleep, less confusion, rejoice in that gradual work. Every peaceful moment is a divine gift, and you are right to give all glory to Jesus.
Keep praying with that steadfast trust. As you declare God's protection and plead the blood of Christ over him, you are not merely reciting words; you are anchoring your heart in the reality that the chastisement of our peace was upon Jesus, and by His stripes we are being made whole. That wholeness encompasses every part of him, spirit, mind, and body. So do not be discouraged when you pray for healing and the answer unfolds slowly. The One who created him knows the pathway to wholeness, and He is walking it with him. The peace you are asking for, a calm spirit during shaving, freedom from tormenting memories, the ability to communicate without distress, these are all fruits of God's restorative work. As you sow peace in prayer and trust, the fruit of righteousness is being produced in his life and in your home.
I am joining you in asking the Father to continue this good work. May the Prince of Peace so saturate his environment that every outing, every meal, every relationship is marked by that supernatural calm. And may you, dear mother, as you keep your mind stayed on Him, know the deep, unshakable peace that guards your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. He is your peace.
