Miracle Rainbow Baby

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Prayers to help us conceive our rainbow baby. It would truly be a miracle as it’s been ### years since our infant son went to Heaven. We have been trying for ### months with no luck. I have been praying for a miracle everyday.

We are deeply moved by your request and we stand with you in this profound longing and in the grief you still carry for your precious infant son who went to Heaven. We know the ache of waiting and the hope for a rainbow baby is heavy on your hearts, and we bring both your sorrow and your hope before the Lord together.

We believe that children are a beautiful gift from God within the covenant of marriage, and we thank God for your marriage and your desire to bring forth new life together according to His design. Scripture reminds us that children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward Psalm 127:3. He settles the barren woman in her home as a joyful mother of children Psalm 113:9. We have seen in Scripture how the Lord remembered Sarah, Hannah, and Elizabeth, and how He opens the womb in His perfect timing, and we trust He hears your daily prayers for a miracle.

We also grieve with you over the loss of your son. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. Jesus said let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these Matthew 19:14. We trust your son is safe in the presence of Jesus, and that God will wipe away every tear Revelation 21:4, and we pray He continues to comfort you with His peace that passes all understanding while you wait.

We want to gently encourage you about something we noticed in your request. You shared that you have been praying every day, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share why this is so important, because it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can boldly approach the throne of grace and be heard. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, to confess your need for Him, and to pray in His mighty name, for He is our mediator and our hope.

We join our faith with yours and pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of this dear husband and wife. We thank You for their lives, for their marriage, and for the love they have for the son You have called home to Yourself. Lord, we ask You to comfort their hearts as only You can, to heal the places of grief that still ache, and to surround them with Your presence. We ask for Your will to be done in their desire to conceive. Lord, You know the longing for this rainbow baby, You formed the womb and You give life. We pray that if it is Your will, You would open the womb and grant them conception, a healthy pregnancy, and a child to raise for Your glory. For this child I prayed, and Yahweh has given me my petition which I asked of him 1 Samuel 1:27. We pray for peace in the waiting, for strength for each month that passes, and for hope that does not waver. Help them to trust that You know the thoughts that You think toward them, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give them hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11, and that all things work together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. Grant them wisdom, unity in their marriage, and rest in Your perfect timing. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord together daily in His Word and in prayer in Jesus name, to rest in His love, and to also seek wise and godly medical counsel as the Lord leads. Keep trusting Him, for He hears every prayer and He is faithful. We are continuing to pray with you for a miracle and for the Lord to be glorified in your family.

We read your request with tender hearts. Losing your infant son and carrying that absence for years is a deep sorrow, and now longing for a rainbow baby while months pass without the answer you hope for can feel heavy and lonely. That you have kept praying every day shows such faithful love.

Grief and hope can live side by side. There is no single timeline for how loss settles, and wanting to welcome another child does not diminish your love for your son. It is understandable to feel disappointment, questions and tiredness while you wait.

One gentle next step to consider, alongside continued prayer, is reaching out for support in both areas. If you have not already, talking with your doctor or OB-GYN about your fertility journey can give you information and care, and talking together as a couple or with a trusted pastor or counselor can help you carry the grief and the waiting without carrying it alone. You do not have to sort through all of this privately.

We are praying for you now.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this family to You. You know their love for their son, their ache, and their desire for a child. Surround them with Your comfort and nearness, grant wisdom to them and to any who care for them, and lead them according to Your good will. Give them peace for today and strength for each step ahead. Amen.

We have carried your request before the Lord with sorrow and with hope, and we grieve with you over the loss of your infant son and over the long weight of waiting these months and years. The longing for a child is a tender and holy desire, for children are a heritage from the Lord, and the ache you feel is known to Him who sees every tear.

You speak of a rainbow baby and of praying for a miracle every day. Scripture gives us a true picture of both. The rainbow is not only a sign in the clouds after the flood, it is seen in glory around about the throne of God, in sight like unto an emerald. There it stands as a circle that hedges divine sovereignty with covenant mercy, to show that God never oversteps the bounds of His promise and that His throne is girt about with faithfulness and grace. When we look for a rainbow we are to act like little children who look up and rejoice at the sign of His remembering mercy, yet we are also to remember that the bow is around His throne, not ours, and that His sovereign will is perfect, wise and good. And when we speak of a miracle, we remember that the power to work miracles lies wholly in Christ Himself. He is grand in emergencies and displays His power spontaneously without need of pressing, and He does nothing but speak and it is done. Yet the objective of every miracle is to reveal more fully the power and authority of the Lord Jesus, that we might trust Him Himself more than any gift from His hand.

We do not know what the Lord will ordain for your womb, but we know what He has ordained for your soul, that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that He invites all who mourn to come to Him for comfort and rest. Your son who went to Heaven is safe in the keeping of that same covenant mercy which surrounds the throne, and the separation you feel now is not the end of the story for those who are in Christ.

We have prayed for you in this way, and we will continue to pray:

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we lift up this dear one who mourns a child and longs for another. Have mercy and grant comfort to a wounded heart, and give peace that passes understanding as she waits upon You. Forgive sin and draw her near through the blood of Christ, that her first and greatest hope may be in You. If it be according to Your perfect will and within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman as You have ordained, where the gift of children belongs, open the womb and grant conception and the safe bearing of a child, for You alone give life. If otherwise, grant contentment in Your goodness, strength to trust Your sovereign and merciful throne, and grace to walk faithfully with You all her days. Grant wisdom to seek godly counsel and medical help as You provide, and keep her from despair by showing her the glory of Christ who alone is our rainbow of promise. Amen.

Consider the mercy that already surrounds the throne on your behalf, and keep looking to Jesus. He who gave Himself for sinners is Himself the greatest miracle of grace, and He will not withhold any good thing that is truly good for those who love Him. May the Lord sustain you day by day as you continue to seek Him in prayer.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your prayer and we grieve with you for the loss of your infant son and for the long months of waiting since. To carry sorrow for years while also carrying hope for a child every day is a heavy burden, and God sees both. He is near to the brokenhearted and He does not forget the tears you have shed in secret.

We will pray with you night and day, exceedingly, as those who love you in Christ. We ask our merciful Father who gives life and who alone opens the womb, that He would comfort you and your spouse deeply, heal the places where grief still aches, and strengthen your faith as you wait. If it be His good and perfect will, we ask Him to grant you the miracle you long for and to entrust to you a child to love and raise for His glory. And even as we ask this, we pray above all that you would know His peace that passes understanding, that your roots would go deep in His word, and that your hope would remain fixed on Christ who has conquered death and who keeps your son safe in His presence.

Do not think your prayers are unheard because the answer has not yet come as you desire. The Lord hears every prayer offered in faith and He is at work in ways we cannot yet see. Continue to bring your longing to Him honestly, to rest in His wisdom and love, and to lean on one another in marriage as you walk through this valley together.

May the Lord grant you comfort in your sorrow, strength for each day, and a settled trust in His goodness and mercy. We stand with you in prayer, asking for His grace to sustain you and for His will to be done in your family according to His perfect love.

Your request touches the heart deeply and thank you for sharing it so honestly. The loss of your infant son and the years of carrying that grief, now joined with months of hoping and waiting and praying every day for another child, is a heavy burden. It is right to bring that ache to the Lord, and He hears you.

In Scripture the rainbow has a very specific meaning that can bring comfort here. Before the flood there was no rain and no rainbow, but after the flood God set the bow in the clouds as a sign of His covenant promise that He would never again destroy the earth with a flood. It was given to remind us that God remembers His promises and keeps them. That same bow is seen again around the throne of God in heaven, a beautiful picture that His covenant faithfulness surrounds Him always. When people today use the phrase rainbow baby to speak of a child hoped for after loss, it is helpful to remember what the rainbow truly points to, not just beauty after a storm, but the faithful, covenant keeping character of God Himself. He is faithful when we can see the sign and when clouds cover the sky.

God has also put a special tenderness in the human heart for infants. A baby is helpless and completely dependent, unable to move or care for itself, and must be carried and tended. That dependence draws out love and care, and it reflects how precious each little life is to Him. He knows and values life even before birth, as when the child in Elizabeth's womb leaped at the presence of Jesus in Mary's womb. Your son was known and loved by God, and though his life on earth was brief, he is safe with the Lord. The Lord also sees the empty place you feel and the longing you carry now.

Waiting is painful, and loss is painful, and Scripture does not hide that. Yet God often allows sorrow and waiting while He is looking ahead to a greater eternal good and to the glory He will reveal. That does not make the present hurt small, but it invites us to keep our eyes on Jesus rather than only on the longing itself, to worship and trust Him even while we ask Him for what our hearts desire.

So I pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus, I bring this dear couple before You. You know their sorrow over their son who is with You, and You know their daily prayers for a child. Comfort their hearts with Your presence and Your peace that passes understanding. Heal the places where grief still aches. Help them to rest in Your faithful character and Your covenant love that surrounds Your throne. If it is Your gracious will, open the womb and grant them a healthy child to love and raise for Your glory. Give them wisdom, strength and health in the waiting, and help them to trust Your timing and Your goodness whether the answer comes quickly or slowly. Draw them closer to Jesus through it all, and let them know they are carried by You now just as a helpless child is carried in loving arms. May Your will be done and may they know Your love more deeply each day. Amen.

May the Lord give you continued grace to hope in Him, to lean on His promises, and to find rest in His care.

We want to thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for allowing us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your miracle rainbow baby. We have continued to lift you and your family up before the Lord these past days, asking Him to grant the desire of your heart to conceive and to bring comfort and healing as you still grieve your precious infant son who went to Heaven.

We know how heavy this wait has been, trying for many months with no success while still carrying the loss from years ago, and we have prayed every day for the miracle you have been praying for, that the Lord would open your womb and bless you with a child. We trust in His promise that children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward Psalm 127:3 and that He hears the cries of those who seek Him.

If your request has been answered and the Lord has blessed you with your rainbow baby, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not yet seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray that God will comfort your hearts, strengthen your faith while you wait, and in His perfect time and will grant you this miracle. We ask for peace that surpasses understanding over you and for His loving hand to be upon you. We pray this in Jesus Name. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
