Ministry starting

We hear your heart as you step out in faith to begin this ministry, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God’s guidance and blessing. Ministry is a high calling, and it requires both humility and boldness, humility to depend fully on the Lord, and boldness to proclaim His truth without compromise.

First, we must emphasize that any work for the Kingdom must be grounded in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other foundation, no other name by which we can approach the Father or see lives transformed. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." If this ministry is not centered on Christ and His finished work on the cross, it will lack the power to bring true salvation and lasting change. We pray that every aspect of this work will exalt Jesus alone, for He is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5).

We also lift up the purity of this ministry before the Lord. In a world that often waters down or distorts God’s Word, we ask that you stand firm on biblical truth, even when it is unpopular. The enemy will seek to infiltrate, distract, or discourage, but we rebuke every spirit of compromise, fear, or division in Jesus’ name. Scripture warns us in 2 Corinthians 11:14 that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, so we must be vigilant to test every spirit against the Word of God (1 John 4:1).

Let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this ministry that is beginning. Lord, we ask that You would go before it, preparing the way and anointing every word and action for Your glory. Father, we pray that this work would not be built on human wisdom or effort, but solely on the foundation of Jesus Christ. Let every person involved be filled with Your Holy Spirit, walking in humility, wisdom, and obedience to Your Word. Protect this ministry from the schemes of the enemy, and guard it against compromise, pride, or distraction. May it be a light in darkness, drawing souls to salvation through faith in Jesus alone. Provide all that is needed, finances, laborers, and open doors, according to Your will. We declare that this ministry will bear fruit that remains, for the glory of Your name. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen."

As you move forward, remember the words of 1 Corinthians 3:6-7: "I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase." Stay rooted in prayer, immersed in Scripture, and surrendered to the Holy Spirit. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

If there are specific challenges or areas of concern in this ministry, whether it be funding, opposition, or uncertainty, we encourage you to bring them before the Lord in prayer and seek godly counsel from mature believers. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you serve Him, and may this ministry be a vessel for His kingdom purposes. We stand with you in faith, believing God for great things!

Starting something new for God carries a mixture of excitement and weight that's hard to put into words. We've seen people step into ministry callings with both trembling hands and steady hearts, and what often matters most in those early days isn't having all the answers, it's simply showing up with whatever God has already placed in you.

One of our books suggests that people who come to you won't be asking whether your approach matches some counseling theory. They'll be asking, in so many ways, "Will this work for me? Can you help?" And the beautiful thing is, you don't need a polished system yet. You need a heart that listens, that stays, that points people toward Christ even when you feel under-prepared. The personal connection you bring is the ministry, at least in the beginning.

So as you step forward, maybe let that truth settle: you're not launching a program as much as offering yourself. The skills will sharpen over time. The structure will take shape. But right now, the calling is simply to be present, to pay attention, and to trust that God put this on your heart for reasons you'll discover along the way.

Lord, we lift up this person and the ministry stirring in them. Give them clarity where the path feels foggy, courage where doubt creeps in, and the quiet confidence that comes from knowing You go before them. Surround them with wise, supportive people who will pray, encourage, and speak honestly. Provide what they need, resources, discernment, open doors, and protect them from discouragement. May this work bring You honor and draw others closer to Jesus. In His name we pray, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

The launching of a work for Christ is no light thing; it must be born in the dust of self-abasement and carried forward on the knees. See to it that your first act is not to plan, but to plead. Do as Jacob did, first wrestle with the Angel of the covenant, and let your prayer be argumentative, laying hold upon the promises with both hands. God is willing to be entreated, but He must be approached with the humility that knows we are less than nothing apart from His grace.

Beware of that self-conceit which cripples supplication. Many a well-meant prayer lags and dies because it is yoked to the chariot of human pride. Strip your soul of all confidence in your own ability before you dare to ask the Lord to bless your ministry. True prayer is the spreading of our weakness before Omnipotence, pressing our suit with the arguments our Father has Himself supplied.

And let your prayer be intercessory from the very start. The sweetest incense that rises to the throne is that which pleads for others. Pray for the souls you will reach, for the church that sends you, for the helpers alongside you. Intercessory prayer knits hearts together and fuels that holy watchfulness which keeps a ministry from running dry.

Yet remember, prayer may be hindered by unholiness. Search your heart diligently. Is there any sin cherished, any known transgression unconfessed? A prayer meeting can be cold, a closet can be empty, when the conscience is not kept tender. Cry for quickening, "Lord, quicken me in Your way." That prayer is the index of spiritual life, and indeed the one necessary breath of every servant of God. You cannot create a new heart in yourself, but the Holy Spirit can. Cast yourself upon Him constantly, for only He can give the living power without which sermons are but dead words and labors are vain.

Do not be surprised if the answer comes in an unexpected fashion. Jacob's deliverance arrived in a way he did not anticipate. Your ministry may be shaped by trials, delays, or apparent defeats which are but the King’s highway to blessing. Continue in prayer, even when the heavens seem brass. Mighty prayer will prevail if it has but time; therefore never forsake the closet. The enemy will whisper that prayer is a fancy, spurn the suggestion with all your might, and cry both day and night.

Let your prayer be a pleading of the promises. Get a word from God and then offer the prayer, for that is the true order: the promise first, then the supplication. Any fancy of your own will prove a broken reed. When you can say, "Remember the Word unto Your servant," then you have a firm rock beneath your feet. God ever intends prayer to be a reminding of Him of His own covenant, not a changing of His will, but the shadow of a coming blessing.

Then, when you have prayed, go forth and act. There is a season when even prayer must take its secondary place and faith must stride forward in obedience. Let the prayer of faith set your feet in motion, and let your life be a constant communion with the invisible Jehovah, so much so that you pray without ceasing, even in the street, in the work, and in the night watches. This is the secret of a ministry that shall not burn out, but shall be as the bush that was aglow yet not consumed.

Go, and the Lord be with you. He will not depart from one who clings to Him with humble, persistent, promise-laden prayer.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
