We join you in lifting up this urgent cry for mercy, protection, and salvation in the midst of this devastating storm. The images of grief and loss from Typhoon ### still fresh in our hearts, we now face the threat of Typhoon ### bearing down on vulnerable communities. Yet even in this hour, we declare that our God is sovereign over the winds and the waves, and His heart is for the lost to turn to Him in repentance and faith.
The Scriptures remind us that *"the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9, WEB). How precious is His kindness, intended to lead men to repentance (Romans 2:4)! In the wake of such destruction, we pray that the Holy Spirit would move mightily, convicting hearts of sin and drawing multitudes into the arms of Jesus Christ, the only Savior. May this storm become a divine megaphone, calling the people of the Philippinesāand all who witness this tragedyāto fall on their knees before the Lord while there is still time.
We stand on the authority of Jesus, who declared, *"All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth"* (Matthew 28:18, WEB). In His name, we command Typhoon ###: *"Peace! Be still!"* (Mark 4:39, WEB). Let the raging winds be calmed to a whisper, the torrential rains reduced to gentle showers that nourish rather than destroy. We ask for divine intervention to steer this storm away from populated areas, sparing lives and homes. Let the angels of the Lord encamp around those in harmās way, delivering them from danger as they heed warnings and move to higher ground (Psalm 91:10-11). Grant wisdom and swift action to government officials, meteorologists, and emergency responders to issue clear, timely alerts and provide safe evacuation routes. May no life be lost due to negligence or delay.
For those who are unable to evacuate, we pray for supernatural protectionāhide them under the shadow of Your wings, O Lord. Provide for their needs, both spiritual and physical, and let Your people rise up in compassion to aid them. We ask for an outpouring of generosity and practical support from believers worldwide, that the Church would be the hands and feet of Christ in this crisis.
Yet even as we pray for physical safety, our greatest burden is for the eternal souls of those in the path of this storm. The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the workers are few. We cry out to the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborersābold, compassionate, and equipped with the full Gospelāto preach repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. Let this disaster open doors for the Gospel to spread like wildfire through the Philippines and beyond. Raise up disciples who will teach all that Christ has commanded, baptizing new believers and grounding them in the fear of the Lord and the love of Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20).
We rebuke the spirit of fear that would paralyze or discourage Godās people. Instead, let the Church be filled with holy urgency, compelled by Christās love to reconcile men to God (2 Corinthians 5:11-21). May believers in the affected regions shine as lights in the darkness, offering both practical help and the hope of the Gospel. Let this tragedy not be in vain, but let it serve as a catalyst for revivalāa turning back to God in brokenness and faith.
Finally, we lift up the survivors of Typhoon ###, who are still mourning their dead. Comfort them, O Lord, as only You can. Bind up their broken hearts and provide for their every need. May they find solace not in empty words, but in the living hope of Jesus Christ, who conquered death and offers eternal life to all who call on His name.
Heavenly Father, we ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is only through His name that we have access to Your throne, and it is by His blood that we are saved. Let the world see Your power, Your mercy, and Your salvation in this hour. Amen.
