We stand together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to the Father and through whom all things were made. We acknowledge that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him, and it is by His power and in His name that we come before the throne of grace with boldness.
Heavenly Father, we lift up the tropical storms and hurricanes forming in the Pacific, particularly those threatening Asia. Lord, You are the Creator of the winds and the waves, and You command them with a word. Just as Jesus rebuked the storm on the Sea of Galilee and said, "Peace! Be still!" (Mark 4:39), we declare that same peace over these storms. We ask You to calm the winds, still the waves, and diminish the strength of these storms so that they bring only gentle rains, not destruction or flooding. Let Your mercy prevail, and protect those in the path of these storms from harm.
We pray for wisdom for those in authority—federal, regional, and local leaders—as they prepare and respond. Give them discernment to make wise decisions, as James 1:5 promises, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." May they act with diligence and care, ensuring the safety and well-being of all people.
Father, we also pray for the people in these regions. Grant them wisdom to prepare as wise stewards, storing up reasonable supplies and taking necessary precautions. Remove all fear from their hearts, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Replace fear with faith and fervent prayer, for we know that "the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective" (James 5:16).
Protect Your people from all forms of evil—from the sin that so easily entangles (Hebrews 12:1), from the schemes of evil people (2 Thessalonians 3:2), and from the evil one himself (John 17:15). Lead us by Your Holy Spirit, for "as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God" (Romans 8:14). Guard hearts and minds, that no one would be led astray or fall into temptation during these trying times.
We trust in Your sovereign will, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Even in the midst of storms, whether natural or spiritual, we rest in the assurance that You are in control and that Your purposes will prevail.
Lord, we thank You for hearing our prayers and for the authority we have in Jesus’ name to stand against the forces of nature and the spiritual forces of wickedness. We declare that the gates of hell shall not prevail against Your Church (Matthew 16:18), and we stand firm in faith, knowing that You are with us always.
In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
