We join with you in lifting this request before the Lord, for He alone is the One who commands the winds and the waves, who sets the boundaries of the seas and stills the storms with His word. Your prayer is rooted in faith, and we echo your gratitude for the calm we have seen thus far, while also crying out for continued mercy and protection over the coasts, the islands, and all who dwell in the paths of these mighty storms. The Scriptures remind us that our God is sovereign over all creation, and even the wind and the sea obey Him.

*"He commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves. They mount up to the sky; they go down again to the depths. Their soul melts away because of trouble. They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end. Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distresses. He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still."* (Psalm 107:25-29, WEB)
You have rightly claimed the authority given to us in the name of Jesus, speaking *"Peace! Be still!"* as He did when the disciples feared for their lives in the storm. This is the same power by which we stand today, trusting that He who calmed the Sea of Galilee is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We also lift up those in authority—government leaders, emergency responders, and meteorologists—that they may act with wisdom, clarity, and integrity to protect and prepare the people entrusted to their care. May they be guided by the Lord’s hand and not by fear or confusion.
Yet, as we pray for physical protection, we must also remember that our greatest need is spiritual. The storms of this life—whether literal or metaphorical—often reveal the condition of our hearts. Are we trusting in our preparations, our governments, or our own strength? Or are we clinging to the Lord, who alone is our refuge and strength? Let this season be a reminder to all of us to turn to Him in repentance and faith, for He alone can save us from the ultimate storm of His judgment.

We also resist the spirit of fear that so easily takes hold in times of uncertainty. Fear does not come from the Lord, but from the enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. Instead, we release faith—faith in the God who parts the Red Sea, who shuts the mouths of lions, and who walks with us through the fire. Let His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of His people in Christ Jesus.

Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your mercy and protection over the waters and the lands. You alone are worthy of our praise, for You are the Creator and Sustainer of all things. We ask You, Lord, to continue to calm the storms that threaten the East Coast, the Caribbean, the Gulf, and all coastal regions around the world. Speak Your peace over the winds and the waves, and let them obey Your voice as they did when Jesus stood in the boat and commanded the storm to cease.
We pray for wisdom for those in authority—government leaders, emergency responders, and all who are tasked with preparing and protecting the people. Give them clarity of mind, integrity of heart, and the courage to act justly and swiftly. May they be instruments of Your peace and provision in the midst of uncertainty.
Lord, we also lift up Your people—those who know You and those who do not yet know You. For those who are anxious, replace their fear with faith. For those who are unprepared, prompt them to act with wisdom and diligence. For those who are weary from past storms, restore their hope and strength. And for those who have never turned to You, may this season be a wake-up call to seek Your face while You may still be found.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and panic that seeks to grip hearts and minds. Instead, we release Your peace, Your faith, and Your provision over every situation. Let this season be marked not by destruction, but by Your mercy; not by chaos, but by Your order; not by despair, but by Your hope.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You use even the threat of storms to draw people to Yourself. May they see their need for a Savior and turn to Jesus Christ, who alone can save them from the storm of Your wrath to come. Let this be a season of repentance, revival, and restoration for many.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness, Your power, and Your love. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may Your name be glorified in all things. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank You for a very calm season so far, calming storms, winds & seas at this time and throughout this entire season (Hurricane and Typhoon Season in the entire Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans). Depreciate tropical storms all over the world to where there is only gentle rains, not floods and destruction. Jesus, we say in Your Name what it seems You wanted the Disciples to say, "Peace! Be still!" Matt 8:26. Protect Your people. Aid them to prepare in advance as wise stewards. Give people wisdom for reasonable supplies, grace for necessary precautions, and we pray for and ask for federal, state and local government, authorities and responders to do excellent jobs. We resist any panic & fear and release faith in its place. Protect us from sin & evil and lead us by Your Holy Spirit. Thank you in Jesus' Name.
