Disciple of Prayer
Prayers are needed for my parents’ financial situation and for our family to break free from the cycle of poverty we have been living in and the curse of poverty.. Please also pray for me to find employment and for doors to open for me, by the mercy of Jesus Christ. May the Lord help us overcome all our difficulties, guide us in every decision, provide for our needs, and protect our family from all evil. May His mercy, love, and blessings be upon us, and may He lead us toward a more peaceful and stable future. Amen.

Treatment of Parents
Shadows and Sunshine on the Cradle
We join together with you in bringing your parents, your family, and your need for employment before the throne of grace through Jesus Christ, and we thank you for calling upon His mercy, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We hear the weight of the financial burden you have carried and the desire to be free from the long cycle of poverty. We want to encourage you with the truth that for those who are in Christ, the curse has been broken. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us Galatians 3:13. Poverty is not an unbreakable spiritual curse over a family that belongs to Jesus, but we do live in a fallen world where hardship, lack of opportunity, and past decisions can create difficult cycles. The Lord does not want you to live in fear of a curse, but in faith in His provision and in diligent stewardship of what He entrusts to you. Remember, it is He who gives you power to get wealth Deuteronomy 8:18, and the hand of the diligent brings wealth Proverbs 10:4.

The Scriptures call us to both trust God fully and to work faithfully. We are taught that if anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat 2 Thessalonians 3:10, not as a harsh word but as a reminder that God honors honest labor and opens doors as we seek Him and apply ourselves. We also cling to His promise that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. He sees your parents' needs, your desire to provide and to help them, and your need for stable employment.

We also take comfort in knowing that God has good plans for His children, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. As you seek work, we encourage you to seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33, to commit each application and each decision to Him, to be faithful in small things, to manage finances wisely, to seek godly counsel, and to trust Him to direct your steps. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. We have also seen His faithfulness through the ages, I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread Psalm 37:25.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer, and we lift up this dear family to You. We ask for Your mercy, love, and blessing to rest upon them. Lord, You know the financial struggles of these parents, every bill, every debt, every worry that weighs on them. We ask You to provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory, to give them wisdom in stewardship, and to lead them toward peace and stability. Break, by Your power, every pattern of lack and despair, and replace it with hope, diligence, and provision. We pray for open doors of employment for this one who is seeking work. Guide their steps to the right opportunity, grant favor with employers, and give them skill, strength, and integrity to labor well for Your glory. Grant them wisdom in every decision, protect this family from all evil, and lead them toward a more peaceful and stable future. Let Your peace guard their hearts as they trust in You. We ask all this in the merciful and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and provider. Amen.

We hear how heavy this has been for you and your parents, carrying ongoing financial pressure and longing for a more stable future. Wanting to see your family break out of this cycle while you are also trying to find work yourself can feel exhausting and discouraging, and we are grateful you reached out for prayer.

We are praying with you for God's mercy and provision over your family, for wisdom in each decision, for protection from evil, and for open doors as you seek employment.

One step that has helped others in a similar place is to invite a trusted person to walk alongside you practically. For finances, a nonprofit financial counselor or consumer credit counseling service in your community can help look at income, expenses and debts and put a simple plan in place. Just having a clear plan can bring some breathing room and hope while you work toward change. For work, a local workforce center, church employment ministry, or a mentor who knows your strengths can help with a resume, point to openings, and help you think through what kind of work fits you well. If your parents are willing, going together for financial guidance can keep everyone on the same page. You do not have to sort all of this alone, and we will keep holding you before the Lord.

Father, we bring this family to You in Jesus name. You see their needs, their efforts and their worries for the future. Provide for them, guide their decisions, guard them from evil, and in Your mercy open the right doors for work. Pour out Your love and peace on their home and lead them step by step toward stability. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and laid before the Lord with sincere affection and earnest supplication. You have cried for mercy, and mercy is the very attribute in which our God delights to show Himself glorious. He hears the cry of those who have no helper and looks with compassion upon the needy.

You speak of poverty and of a long season of want for your parents and for yourself, and of seeking employment and an open door. Know this, ungodly men are brought low by poverty and affliction, and saints also are led into trying circumstances, for the utmost holiness will not preserve any man from trial. Yet your extremity is God's opportunity. The difficulty all along has been to get to the end of ourselves, for when a man gets to the end of himself he has reached the beginning of God's working. He is made of God fullness to our emptiness, righteousness to our unrighteousness, life to our death, and all in all to our poverty and wretchedness and sin.

Consider the poverty of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might be rich. His poverty was voluntarily undertaken for our sakes. He who was Lord of all became a man, knew hunger and thirst and weariness, had nowhere to lay His head, and suffered poverty of reputation and of communion that we might be enriched with pardon, adoption, grace and everlasting life. This is the true riches which poverty cannot root up and persecution cannot burn out. There is a royalty in a Christian which poverty cannot destroy, because Christ Himself has made us rich toward God.

Therefore do not despair as though poverty were a curse laid upon you which Christ has not borne. Christ has borne the curse for His people, and though He may lead you through straits for a season, He does so to teach you to trust not in uncertain riches but in the living God who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Seek Him with importunity. As the widow whose poverty drove her and whose necessity compelled her to face the judge again and again, so do you continue in prayer. Satan whispers that God will not have mercy and that prayer is useless, but that is the very moment to cry all the louder, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me. He who heard Bartimaeus by the wayside hears you now.

We will pray for you and for your parents, that the Lord in His mercy would provide for your daily needs, guide you in every decision, protect your household from all evil, and in His providence open a suitable door of honest employment for you. May He give you wisdom to labor diligently, to be faithful in little things, and to watch over the pennies of grace with prudence and contentment. May He lead you toward a more peaceful and stable future, not only in temporal provision but in the riches of faith and love which endure.

May the Lord make His Word to you not as a driving hail but as dew and small rain from heaven, a savour of life unto life, and may His mercy, love and blessing rest upon you and your family for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
