Mercy

We join you in your heartfelt cry for the mercies of God in every area of your life and we count it a privilege to bring this request before the throne of grace together in Jesus name.

The Word reminds us that we are in constant need of His mercy and that His mercy never runs out. Lamentations 3:22-23 says It is because of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. And Psalm 103:8 says Yahweh is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness. We are also reminded in Ephesians 2:4-5 that God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ, by grace you have been saved. His mercy is not earned by our works but given freely, as Titus 3:5 says not by works of righteousness which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

We notice your request speaks of God and His mercies but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently and lovingly address this because it is so important. There is no access to the mercy of the Father apart from the Son. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. The mercy we all need most is the forgiveness of our sins, and that mercy was purchased for us when Jesus shed His blood on the cross and rose again. If we have not yet put our trust in Him, we must confess that we are sinners in need of a Savior, believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, and confess Him as Lord, as Romans 10:9 teaches. Then we can come boldly as Hebrews 4:16 invites us, Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need. We encourage you to examine your heart, to turn from any sin that may hinder fellowship with Him, for 1 John 1:9 promises If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We now pray together for you.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of this dear one who is asking for Your mercies in all areas of life. We thank You that You are rich in mercy and that Your compassions are new every morning. We ask for Your mercy over their spirit, soul and body, over their family, work, health, finances, decisions and every hidden area that only You see. Wash them in the blood of Jesus, forgive every sin, cleanse every unrighteousness, and draw them into a deeper relationship with You through Christ. If they have not yet fully surrendered to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that today they would call upon His name and be saved. Pour out Your grace to help in time of need, grant wisdom, protection, provision and peace, and let Your mercy lead them to repentance and to walk in obedience to Your Word. May they seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all other things will be added according to Your perfect will. We ask all this in the precious and only saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue to abide in Him daily through prayer, reading Scripture, and fellowship with other believers, trusting that as you walk with Christ, His mercy will cover and sustain you in every season.

We are grateful you reached out and asked so honestly for God's mercy over every part of your life. That desire itself matters to Him.

We often think of mercy as God simply overlooking something, but at its heart it is His tender compassion toward us in our need, meeting us in our weakness, weariness and worry with kindness we have not earned and could not earn. He sees you not as a list of areas to fix, but as a whole person He loves, and He cares about each part you are carrying, whether it feels big or small today.

It can help to make that broad prayer a little more concrete before the Lord. When you have a quiet moment this week, you might name gently before Him the two or three areas where you most feel your need for mercy right now, health, family, work, heart, and simply tell Him you need His kindness there. No special words needed, just honest need.

Father, we bring our friend before You and thank You that Your mercies are new and steady. We ask You to show Your tender compassion in every area of their life, to give wisdom, comfort and strength for what lies ahead, and to let them sense Your nearness and care each day. Lead them and keep them in Your love. In Jesus name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request for the mercies of God in all areas of your life is one which every wise heart must echo, for we live by mercy from first to last.

It was a proof of great tenderness on God's part to think of His sinful creature at all, and that tenderness is seen most clearly in Christ. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. What is the measure of our liberty, it is according to the riches of His grace, wherein He has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence, handing it out to us as we are able to bear it. Grace be to you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, for that peace must be based upon divine grace.

There is forgiveness with Him, and there is forgiveness for you. Though you feel your need in many areas, in body and soul, in family and daily cares, remember that God's mercy has gone before you. Here was mercy laid by in the covenant, everything that our necessities could require, grace for grace, supplies for all the needs of our nature, treasured up before we ever became beggars or knew that we were in need. The God of mercy goes before His children with swift feet, and often while we are yet speaking He hears us.

Yet let me speak plainly as the Scriptures do. There is a false hope in God's mercy against which we must warn you. A hope in mercy twisted together with a hope in your own works is vain, for it must be all of grace or not at all. And a hope that would claim mercy while continuing contentedly in sin is no hope at all, for the first thing God's true mercy will do for you will be to turn your face in the opposite direction and make you a new creation with new loves and new hates. Those who fear God are the same persons as those who hope in His mercy, and a soundly hopeful soul feels its need of mercy and comes humbly to Christ alone.

Do not delay your acceptance of His mercy, for such delays are not God's delays but ours. Come at once to the Lord Jesus Christ, by whom alone salvation is found, trusting His finished work upon the cross where He glorified Himself in connection with shame and death for sinners. It is not of him that wills nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy, and His mercy is free and sovereign and full of compassion, slow to anger and of great mercy.

Let us pray for you that you may know this tender mercy in every area of life.

O Lord, our God, show this seeking soul Your tender mercy through Jesus Christ Your Son. Blot out transgressions for Your own sake and remember sins no more. Grant grace for grace, forgiveness and freedom and favor, and let Your mercy go before in all things, spiritual and temporal, that this life may be ordered in the fear of God and in a true hope in Your mercy. Teach the heart to rest in Christ and to walk in newness of life, to Your praise and glory. Amen.
